I’m an Autistic classically trained chef and I wrote a food aversion acceptance cookbook and guide titled COLOR TASTE TEXTURE, that’s all about finding out what works for specific sensory needs and how to customize food for them. It’s useful for all ages, no cooking experience necessary.

When I was homeless in 2019, the Salvation Army shelter refused to give me a bed (even though they were available), because I was on immunosuppressant meds and they didn’t want to be responsible or liable if I got more sick or died on premises. They’d rather I die on the street.

I would participate in the “repost with a song you must sing aloud when you hear it,” but I must sing along to any song I know when I hear it or think about it or hear something kinda similar. It’s all songs.

When I was living at the shelter a bunch of skinheads would sit next to me in the mess hall and start talking horrible racist stuff. I first shaved my head as a Buddhist monk in monastic life and am Roma/Sámi. They stopped when I got up immediately and left a few times.

I know some homeless trans folk who were turned away in 2019. The SA said they were full, but I know for a fact they weren’t.

For context, at the time they were the only shelter in the city with beds available. When I told them this they said they were aware and their hands were tied.
