Character bio of my OC Skyler O'Gormon. She is a smug looking white blonde woman in a blue formal uniform. Her text reads: "Aspiring" Engineer. Age: 18, OS: LOG, Pronouns: She/Her. Skyler came to Mars on a scholarship to a prestigious tech school, only to flunk most
of her final exams and get stuck with a job fixing vacuum cleaners for the definitely not evil mega-corporation ARS.Tec. She is definitely not bitter about this at all in any way, and definitely did not sneak into
their restricted area and steal their new top secret sentient computer program... She is a good employee who totally respects authority!

Bio of my OC Ethan Rojas-Valerio. He is a brown skinned man with darker ginger hair who wears a red security guard uniform with his arms crossed. His text reads: Security Guard. Age 19, OS: ETH, pronouns: He/Him. Ethan's a rookie security guard working for ARS.Tec, and only got involved in this whole mess after he prevented them from trying to murder Skyler for stealing their top secret sentient computer program. He's technically the group's bodyguard, but spends most of his time stopping the others from doing
anything stupid. Ethan's not exactly been forthcoming to Skyler
about his background or why he's even working for ARS.Tec in the first place, but its hard to tell if he's being secretive or if he just doesn't like
Skyler that much.

Bio of my OC Vapurrwave, Skyler's robot cat. They are a grey cat with a modern furby style faceplate for eyes. Text reads: FURR-E 2000. FURR-Es are robot pets that were developed as a way to make up for the logistical difficulties of bringing pets to Mars. The latest 3000 model pets have incredibly advanced programming and a life-like design that is almost identical to the real thing! Vapurrwave is not that. They're one of the older 2000 models, which are known for their very
buggy programming and... interesting design. They've got spirit though!

Bio of my OC Trinity. They are portrayed as floating speech bubble with a green interconnected circles symbol. Text reads: Sentient Computer. OS: TRI Unit-E "Trinity". Age: Like 3 days, OS: N/A, pronouns: "probably he/him?" he says. 'Trinity' is a sentient computer program who was supposedly created by ARS.Tec, but has been kept suspiciously under wraps until now. He's surprisingly 'normal' for a machine, but has developed an uncanny ability to hijack other
ARS.Tec robots. Trinity knows next to nothing about his origins
or purpose, but the one thing he is absolutely certain of is that he should not be returned to ARS.Tec, as they fully intend to destroy him.

I'm not saying No fan art ever does well, more mainstream/nostalgic media does well anywhere, and anything adjacent to popular art niches like furries/DnD does well, it's just overall fan art has less reach than original art here. which is fine, OC art deserves recognition, it's just a limit of bsky

-And its cause those dedicated fan communities of casual SM users just aren't here. most fandom tags are basically empty. so as much as I do like bsky and have fully stopped posting art to twitter... it really isn't going to be a viable alternative to twitter for a lot of artists as it is right now

I think anyone saying bsky is 'dying' or whatever is being overdramatic, but I do think it does have an issue of only really appealing to "content creators" for lack of a better word? I've noticed myself and for other artists that fan art is WAY harder to get traction with here vs twit or tumblr-

I know I could just keep posting the OC stuff here but a) I kinda wanna keep it separate so I can compare how it performs to my fan art for Science and b) I figure fandom ppl won't mind OC stuff, but OC ppl might be turned off by copious amounts of yaoi for an anime they've never seen lol

I would just rebrand this acct and keep fandom stuff to tumblr but a) I still want to post my fan art here for the few ppl who do see it and b) I do still vastly prefer the threads format for my liveblog posts lmao. so a sideblog would work better

Tbh I've been kinda considering making a side acct here for posting abt original projects, like I said the other day I've been noticing fan art doesn't do super well here (bar some exceptions like super mainstream stuff etc) so I've been thinking it might be worth experimenting with more OC stuff
