The thing about my parents' place is that they have hoarding tendencies and despite being enough to hold our family growing up, every single cupboard and every single desk is stuffed with trash (for it is, undeniably, trash) to the point I can't use any corner of it and I'm forced to pile more up

Maybe it's a thing of understanding what a crush is to you? For me, when my OCD acts up as obsessive random "crushes", 99% of the time what my brain is actually getting at is "you want to grow closer to this person and you don't actually know how"
