Right. The Nazis said Poland crossed the border on 9/1/39 and that was used to justify the invasion. It’s like, dog, nobody believes that Poland would do this so just go for it!

It’s not outrageous, especially if you’ve been watching The Diplomat! Putin allegedly did this in 1999 where a bunch of apartment buildings were bombed across Russia and it was blamed on Chechen separatists and used as justification for war in Chechnya. Did Putin actually do it? Maybe!

That is the most stark thing I’ve read - just how deplorable the conditions were for the average solider, and the privations one had to endure. I’ve read much more about the CW than I have the Am Rev, and as shitty as it was for a CW soldier, the Am Rev seems an order of magnitude worse
