Salesperson: and as you can see, the jacket has this wonderful red lining

Me, an urban planner, eyes narrowing: it has WHAT

Yes but what if this was about vibes and how I feel? I don’t have any money left over after I pay my mortgage, contribute to my 401k, pay my bills, go out to eat four times a week, and buy two new outfits every month. This means I’m living paycheck to paycheck.

Oh no, a contemptuous and innumerate leftist on the niche microblogging platform thinks I’m cringe.

People are, on the whole, much better off than they were 5 years ago because wages have increased, particularly for the lowest-paid workers.

This does not mean that economic inequality is a solved problem, that poverty has ended, or that poor people don’t struggle.

I made $18,000 in 2019. I am doing a lot better now!

Oh no, old people got to retire.

Do you think everyone making less than one hundred and twenty thousand dollars a year is living paycheck to paycheck?
maxdubler.com
No it’s just a bullshit number from a survey run by a payday lending company.

The people making land use policy in this town will tell you that they are creating places for local seniors to downsize into while avoiding impacts to local schools.

The 65th percentile household income is one hundred and twenty thousand dollars a year. The idea that everyone making less than 120k is “paycheck to paycheck” is laughable.

Elder millennial here. I lost my shitty post-recession 1099 job in 2020. I immediately doubled my income by going on the enhanced unemployment benefits, then went to grad school, where I had a good-paying research gig, then immediately found full time employment after graduating. I am doing GREAT.

Can you ask Mikael Colville Andersen why he is so weird about fat people?

I would simply not use a reaction gif of the sex pest ex senator.

I love the gay gym because eight thousand years of textile innovation have come together to produce garments that allow the men here to be technically fully clothed but functionally naked.

Absolutely, and he was 100% right.

You're living through one of the biggest technological transformations in world history and it has nothing to do with AI

Grid scale batteries are changing our electricity system. Excellent new visual story on batteries in FT today shows just how far this technology has evolved.

Fasten your seatbelts, this is just the beginning.

Is the senior Senator from Minnesota a fucking joke to you?
Amy Klobuchar campaign shirt.

Huge respect to women who work out in gay gyms. I am afraid of you in the same way I am afraid of moms who make matching t shirts for family vacations and also Amy Klobuchar.

Yeah it’s a UCLA study by Don Shoup and Vinit Mukhija that I can’t find right now.
