Seemed the right month to make it. 🙂
Oh, wow! I hope you enjoy the book! It's one of my go-to books because it's full of easy recipes for yummy cakes that are good for things like office parties or potlucks like my book group. I've made a lot of them, and have only had problems twice, but not with this cake or the lime one.
Thanks, Pam. It was another good discussion with yummy food.
Thanks, Naina. I was happy with how it turned out.
Thanks. Yes, it's non-dairy. It's from a book called "Snacking Cakes", by Yossy Arefi.
For today's book group: pumpkin cake with a maple/olive oil glaze.

He's one of the few mural artists whose work I recognize. I started to see it crop up around the downtown area at the beginning of Covid, when businesses were boarded up and painted over. Some is still there.
Thanks. I'll post a picture of it.
Thanks! I can't claim it was my original idea, but I was happy how they turned out.
I'm still getting this year's Halloween party food sorted out, but here was my contribution last year: bread sticks dipped in white chocolate and colored sugar. 🙂

Oh, I hadn't heard of the Bronte one, so thanks for the tip. FYI, the Christie one is called "A Talent to Deceive".
Loved Barnard. I believe I've read them all, including his non-fiction appreciation of Agatha Christie.
With the Blue Angels sidelined by the government shutdown, the Canadian Snowbirds stepped up to take their place during today's Fleet Week Air Show. I'm not sure how much we deserve it these days, but thanks for the love, Canada!

Thank you. I agree she did excellent later work, too. I mostly picked earlier photos because they showed a greater variety of character looks. In her later movies, at least the ones I've seen, she tended to just look like herself. (Not that there was anything wrong with that, of course.)
To me, Diane Keaton wasn't always the obvious choice going into a movie, but she always felt like the right choice by the end. She brought talent and beauty, of course, but she infused her performances with a humanity that I can't believe was just acting.

I always assumed that when the machines finally rebelled, it would be more dramatic.
A co-worker just asked ChatGPT to do something, and it told her the assignment sounded "tedious".
I read Rose Hobart's memoir because I was interested in her experience with blacklisting. It was a quirky book, written when her memory was shaky. The childhood section was beautiful, and a diary-based section was solid. But, for example, she frankly admitted she had no memory of her second wedding.
Will his face be done in copper?
I had that book he's holding in the front "I may not be totally perfect, but parts of me are excellent", and loved it. (I thought I still had it, but now I can't find it. The perils of being a book hoarder. LOL)
