I am glad the public is being in-formed of the reasons for eating plenty of Bread. In my opinion there's no food to equal Bread for building energy and vitality, and I think it's time the public realised this truth.

Professional footballers like myself and the other Arsenal boys, lead a mighty strenuous life and our success depends above all on perfect physical fitness. That's why we all eat plenty of Bread at every meal.

It's all nonsense to talk about Bread producing fat. Nobody eats more Bread than we do, and I'll challenge anyone to find an ounce of superfluous fat on any of us in the Arsenal team.

I'm delighted to lend what help I can in making the British public realise more than ever the value of the bread-eating habit. Good luck to you."
