Netanyahu doesn't care about Trump any more than he cared about Biden. He cares about himself and his grip on power. Those lives lost preserved that for him.
I highly doubt this war is over, because if Netanyahu runs out of emergencies, he will have to resume his corruption trial.
NOT because he's senile and he is not knowingly lying. It is narcissistic confabulation.
People with NPD must rewrite history. He can't face the fact that he was the bad guy on Jan 6, so he resolves the cognitive dissonance by brainwashing himself until he sees himself as the victim.
As with most of his "lies", he genuinely believes it.
People with NPD revise (or reinterpret) past events in ways that protect their idealized self-image. It is most often subconscious---an ego-syntonic defense of the false self to protect a brittle underlying self-esteem.
Politicians breath power. If they do a 180 and distance themselves from someone that is still in power, it is because they know that person won't be in power much longer.
Here is what happened this morning: A deeply insecure man called a big expensive meeting so he could feel important and quell inner feelings of inadequacy.
They should hire back and promote the employees they fired for protesting Microsoft's contracts with Israel... oh wait that would require their obsequious conformist piece-of-driftwood executives to admit they were wrong, so guess not.
