Earth's escape velocity = 11.27 km/s, so get used to being here. I take between 5-8 K photos per year. Some are even good! 🇨🇦 He/Him

First Light - Kinuseo Falls

I thought about saving this to post on Wednesday, but nah.

Those are very cool clouds.

Natural iridescent oil film from decaying leaves on the surface of a small pool of water, with a few leaves floating.

In the past, I've made the mistake of giving up on autumn colours too early.

Not this year.

I'm going to squeeze every drop I can from it ... and if all I get is more days in nature, I still win.

Behold: my epic wildlife photo of a huge black bear!

(It was on a dirt road, and I got a good look at it, but it didn't stick around for a photo.)

Also, there was no way to move it as it was still anchored at one end, and the top was tangled in thicker brush. This was the best option.

Like Rhonda and I are going to let a little thing like a fallen tree stop us.

Though, I am considering adding a saw or axe to my trunk, in addition to the shovel.

And I never did find the waterfall I was searching for … again. I think the internet people are lying about it.

Dear @support.bsky.team ... the bits of code that make photos upload is struggling.

Sometimes, all it can do is just go, "How about grey? Is grey okay for now?"

Spoiler: it is not.

I don't think I shared this one yet, but may have. This shot was more about the lines of the background rock than the leaves, but I liked how they had fallen.

A trio of shots from my Tumbler Ridge trip. It wasn't all golden trees and waterfalls; everything was beautiful!

A few autumn scenes close to home. Also, a fully articulated screen will save your neck, back and clothing. 🙂

I worked on this for what felt like an eternity.

This is the top of Kinuseo Falls ... and hopefully I "broke the rules" correctly and your eyes lead out of the frame to the right ... because that's where the water is going. 🙂

Once a legitimate government is back in place, these crimes will be punished.

Man, these fell fast. But it was -8 °C overnight so I’m not super surprised. (iPhone photo)

Why would anyone play it? It’s a lie. Republicans control the entire government.

I feel like I want more info about the timeline. This happened in July, so how long after the crash was it until IH was notified? Was the health of any patients negatively impacted by the delay?

I don’t know if there are more details via the link in the piece, because I don’t use Facebook.

I'm seeing upload glitches ... but if I click these photos they're okay. Hopefully, people can see them.

This pileated woodpecker put on an acrobatic show while eating berries. I thought it was after the red ones, but it was eating the white ones.

I hope we get some snow before all the autumn colours are gone.

I got a few decent shots from Ten Mile Lake last night.

It may be that 10+ second exposures of the night sky without satellite streaks are no longer possible.

Do I know how to edit astro photos well? No, I don't. 😂 🤷‍♂️

It's not the best time of year for it, but I couldn't resist pointing my camera toward the most visible part of the Milky Way last night.

I need a ballhead that points straight up, too. For this shot, I used a 10-second timer and laid the camera down on a safety vest I keep in my car.

Took the annual trip up to the Hermitage at Dunkeld yesterday - This place seems to get busier every time I go - car park was overflowing by 11am. #fsprintmonday

I don't know how someone recovers from this. I imagine they'll struggle with survivor's guilt when they learn that over 70,000 have been killed in this conflict.
