The 2nd Summit on Responsible Computing, AI, and Society kicks off Oct 28 and 29 rcais.github.io

Our agenda will feature: education, creativity, health, the humanities, sustainability, and aligned and accountable agents

We will be streaming most talks. Registration is open for remote attendees.
LinkedIn is 99% this. It is indeed tiresome
To do otherwise is just replacing flawed humans with flawed non-humans. Except now there is no accountability for the errors, and that is worse.
Right? I get this all the time. What’s wrong with hallucinations? Humans hallucinate, make errors, get things wrong. We should want something better than us. We shouldn’t use it until it is better than us.
Here is a story about a AAAI paper that got 5 human reviews and 1 AI review. The AI generated review contained a page-long counterexample to a proof in the paper. The AI’s counter example contained hallucinated errors. How does one rebut an AI reviewer? www.linkedin.com/posts/omerbp...

#AAAI26 This year, in addition to five human reviewers, we also received an AI review. The humans sort of liked the paper, so there's hope. The AI, however, took a bolder approach: it confidently d...

Sacks, the walking talking manifestation of the ai industry’s regulatory capture of the government is accusing Anthropic of… wait for it… attempting regulatory capture
Yeah ego movies are always sound investments.

Not.

(Except John Wick.)
Tron 2.0 the game had an amazing story. They should have made that instead of Legacy
.
for the record: Tron: Ares was fine. Probably better than Legacy. Enjoy the pretty pictures, let your brain turn off for a couple hours. I saw it in 3D. They did a good job of the 3D. I think 3D movies are pointless but if you are going to see something in 3D this is a good one for that.
They did a lot of set up for a sequel. They were clearly thinking to revitalize the franchise. I think it is really shocking that they didn’t know this was not a good movie.
Time from Tron to Tron 2: 28 years

Time from Tron 2 to Tron 3: 15 years

See you again in another decade

Oh man, if this happened to me I would put it in my bluesky bio. But I can see how some might find it concerning
OpenAI claims to have solved issues with mental health of user.

And in other news: GPT erotica coming soon
Oh good, ChatGPT is getting "erotica for verified adults" later this year
We made ChatGPT pretty restrictive to make sure we were being careful with mental health issues. We realize this made it less useful/enjoyable to many users who had no mental health problems, but given the seriousness of the issue we wanted to get this right.

Now that we have been able to mitigate the serious mental health issues and have new tools, we are going to be able to safely relax the restrictions in most cases.

In a few weeks, we plan to put out a new version of ChatGPT that allows people to have a personality that behaves more like what people liked about 4o (we hope it will be better!). If you want your ChatGPT to respond in a very human-like way, or use a ton of emoji, or act like a friend, ChatGPT should do it (but only if you want it, not because we are usage-maxxing).

In December, as we roll out age-gating more fully and as part of our “treat adult users like adults” principle, we will allow even more, like erotica for verified adults.
Why yes I always drive in the opposite direction from my home for a while and regularly make U-turns and backtrack. Obviously.

Also, my commute by bike takes much less time than the algorithm thinks because it’s not actually on roads with traffic.
It looks like my phone is trying to learn my commute. But my regular commute is by bike along bike paths that mostly don’t follow roads. The AI is trying to map my data to roads cars can drive and the result is hilarious.

Does AI get bored?

I gave them nothing to do, just to see what happens

one thing — they devolve into a repetitive “collapse” state, I guess you could call it boredom

but some break out into math & poetry on their own, I didn’t expect which ones that would be

Was just telling people that I thought OpenAI was trying to build a walled garden ala Apple.
