Life in Dad Land - tales of dementia from the inside

Dad is in his 80s, has a non-Alzheimer's dementia, and is otherwise healthy. He's been living with me since early 2020.

I used to average $80/wk for our food, including the dogs'. Over $120/wk now, and that's after cutting out beef and reducing other meats.
I can't cut out what dad will eat, so I am eating far more pasta & rice, bean soups, cabbage soups, etc., than ever before.

I'm looking to see what the percentage, over-all, is.

Beef is beyond my budget now. Chicken and pork are still ok, and sales help. Veggies are up, so is fruit. Dad's snacks are up, the ingredients and shipping are higher. Olive oil is way up, as is cooking oil. It sucks.

Monet painted this view of the Seine near the town of Argenteuil, northwest of Paris, shortly after his arrival there in 1871—likely from the small boat he had converted into a floating studio. He included the Château Michelet and other recognizable architectural landmarks. The small, delicate brushstrokes identify this work as belonging to the “high” phase of Impressionism. The brilliant colors of Monet’s landscape are mirrored in the water below, resulting in a remarkable symmetry that makes it difficult to distinguish between the reflections and their sources.

Bobby Walker, dark hair and dressed exactly like trump. Not a kid at all. He’s vice chair of New York State young republicans. I guess young means under 50.

I have to go through the old purses scattered about the house, find some (legible) receipts and compare them to now.

I do know that I am spending more on groceries, mostly for the food that dad will eat, and his coffee.

My adult cats used to bring in mice to play with. I'd find dried out mouse bodies all over the laundry rooms - behind the HW tank, the furnace, between litter boxes...
