This is such a dumb take. What about the thousands of jobs, trickle down employment and tax revenues different communities rely on? Not to mention the lower paying positions that will surely rise in the wake. No surprise it comes from the BUSINESS Council.

I agree the ads were stupid, but I also think that trying to draw things out is just as foolish. If it wasn’t these ads, it was always going to be something else because he changes his mind on a dime. I think PM should focus more on creating trade partnerships elsewhere.

Trump is adding another 10% on tariffs against Canada because Ontario didn’t pull their ad fast enough. If our Prime Minister still tries appeasing that asshole after this, I will question his leadership abilities. Great time for Doug Ford to consider eliminating rent control, btw. /s #onpoli

It’s sickening. I think the most insane part is that the majority of voters truly don’t believe he’s the one causing all of these provincial and municipal issues either. Mainstream news has also failed and buried this aspect of yesterday’s announcement in the wake of the whole tariff ad debacle.

It’s rough and I know my wife and I don’t even have it as bad as a lot of people do. She’s fully abled and can work, but we’re not swimming in money either. I can’t even imagine what it’s like for those with no job trying to live in a more densely populated area.

It’s fine if they limit it to being a tool that allows for eviction of problematic tenants. Do I trust there will be safeguards ensuring that it isn’t abused to remove low paying tenants? Not exactly. I just don’t know what my wife and I will do if they cancel our lease.

As someone on ODSP, I’m extremely anxious about this. We’ve been at this apartment for 12-years and pay $800 less than someone moving in now. This also includes utilities and a new tenant wouldn’t have that same “luxury.” We wouldn’t be able to afford living here if our current lease gets canceled.

Oh yeah, don’t get me wrong. I think there’s more to this than the commercial making him mad. He was always going to find a reason, this one just works extremely well for the most sleazeballs. It just pisses me off that we have a Premier who’s more concerned with dicking around on stuff like this.
