He talks about basing their journalism in fact, and in the same breath advocates for false balance. Putting an anti-vaxxer and a scientist on the same level is what got us to where we are now. When you platform ridiculousness & place it coequal with seriousness you are giving the ridiculous a gift.

This is an argument from final consequences. It implies that the trump gestapo would be acceptable if it actually made people safer. We have community and state police for that purpose. This is authoritarianism and an unacceptable overreach by the executive branch.

How is a law passed by a country applicable to international law? At best this is a declaration that attempts to hold the US accountable to international law will result in war with europe. We already said he’s a fucking dictator, this is just more of the same. I’m struggling to see your point.

Yeah dictators are free to act with impunity inside their own countries. But he’s not legally covered by international law if they are taking action outside of US territorial waters. Will the international community go after him, though? Who knows.
