It’s been kind of a whirlwind couple of weeks, and I can finally talk about one of the highlights: I got to review NHL 26 for IGN! If you’re on the fence about whether to buy this year’s game, check it out!

Near Dark is such an under appreciated horror gem.

It’s like when I was 12 and used to tell my teachers that I forgot or lost my homework instead of just saying I didn’t do it. But in my defense I WAS 12.

For someone that doesn’t actually work, it’s weird that he never has time to look into anything.

Man, the absolute audacity of this woman. Nuzzi is a cosplay journalist trying to make money off the fact that she absolutely tossed away all of her credibility. I truly hope her book ends up at Dollar Tree stocked next to the single Paul Ryan book I always see there.

Hochul has absolutely stepped up this year and it’s kind of surreal.

Before singing a song to Stephen Colbert tonight, Bette Midler brought up how she sang to Krusty on The Simpsons. Both surreal and awesome to hear her reference an episode from over three decades ago. Now I kinda want to put it on.

You were very kind when I got to meet you!

Caught up on Amazing Spider-Man, and I am loving the current story. I thought Joe Kelly was gonna do some kind of “Superman Red/Blue” thing with Peter and Spider-Man being split in two, but the dynamic (and the actual identities of both characters) has been way more interesting than I predicted.
A man posing as Peter Parker laments that he might not be able to keep his current job.

I’ve bought a ridiculous number of games from LRG for 9 years now, most on Switch but some on PS4. I’ve never had an issue (beyond, again, the wait times). If you want physical releases, especially as so many companies are switching to Game-Key Cards, they’re a better option than you might think.
marcdachamp.bsky.social
Seeing some of the replies, and I really think a lot of Nintendo fans need to get over the Limited Run Games hate. I get that the wait times suck (especially for collector’s editions), but they’re putting in the effort to offer true physical releases at a time when many third parties aren’t.

If Cool Spot in a jack-o’-lantern costume doesn’t make you happy then nothing will.

The desperation to make AI a thing is palpable.

No. I am a better journalist and writer because of my time in college than I would have been without it. It also helped to make me a smarter, more compassionate, well-rounded person. HOWEVER, the college system in this country is predatory, and needs major reform.

19. Is college a scam? Why or why not?

Simultaneously happy that Pokémon Legends: Z-A seems to be very good and bummed I didn’t get to review it.

Yeah, they’re notoriously thin-skinned.
marcdachamp.bsky.social
Is it *possible*? Maybe, but I also don’t think Microsoft has any appetite for more major acquisitions after the last 5 years. I think the higher ups in the company have gotten frustrated with the Xbox division’s spending with little to show for it. MS would rather piss money away on AI.
marcdachamp.bsky.social
Xbox now owns enough major properties that it could be a huge third-party publisher if that’s the path they’re planning. I just feel like that’s the only move left. And I’m convinced they’re killing Game Pass.
marcdachamp.bsky.social
I’m not sold that a next Xbox will happen, and even if there is one, it might just be some Windows thing. But who the hell knows what the strategy will be in two years? I don’t believe for a second Microsoft even knows.
marcdachamp.bsky.social
Yeah, it’s a fair point. I think if this gen proved anything, it’s that these systems are gonna need something on day one, or soon after. And you need a steady stream of games on top of that. Neither PS5 nor XSX had that at all.
marcdachamp.bsky.social
Yeah, we’ll have to see how that’s handled.
marcdachamp.bsky.social
Yeah. I just don’t see how they stick to this schedule. Especially with all the chaos in the world right now. If they send these systems out at $800 and 2027 is anything like the current climate (or worse), it’s gonna be a bloodbath.
