When Dracula says, "I never drink... wine," I'd be like, wait, why did he say it like that? Why would he say that? Did you guys think it was weird how he said that?

In Interview with the Vampire when Armand kills the young lady on stage and passes her body over his head behind him it's a lot like when Prince throws his guitar away in that While My Guitar Gently Weeps clip

Every punk band got that one bassist who looks like the first zombie in NIGHT OF THE LIVING DEAD
The guy, kind of a long angular face and beak of a nose and raggedy teeth

It don't get no more physical than that!

For certain projects I get carried away with striving for precision and symmetry, which, honestly, is often less about how I want the finished thing to look and more because I really enjoy the challenge and process of it all. Here's a work in progress. (1/3)
A pencil sketch of a cross section of the top part of a pumpkin that one cuts off when making a jack o' lantern. I've cut out the left half of the pumpkin lid cross section. There's a curved line running across horizontally. Above the line I've written the letter A and below the line I've written the letter B.
A prayer candle in a glass jar with a piece of black string wrapped around it several times and taped in place. The candle now has a strip of poster board wrapped around where the string is. I'm holding my cut out paper from the second pic next to it; you can see the A section lines up with the strip of poster board.

I had to take a break from this thing but I'm catching up now. What is it going to be, you ask? Why don't you try minding your own business for once?
A fairly realistic paper mache pumpkin lid, like the top part you cut out when making a jack o' lantern. It's just brown paper for now, not yet painted.

These days I really only watch physical media (puppet shows)

I forget if I ever talked about his here, this is hilarious, in the old krewe I got my hand slapped several times for making skull masks that weren't skull-like enough(??), and the leadership eventually made a rule about this specifically to stop me from doing that. Here are the two worst offenders:
Me wearing my violin skull mask; it's an upside down violin shape with a skull face on it. Me wearing my cuckoo clock skull mask; it's basically house-shaped, the face of the clock is a skull face, and there's a little skeleton bird popping out of a door above the face.

I finally did it; I chopped off the back of my ancient (2015?) violin skull mask to turn it into a wall decoration. I like it!
Paper mache sculpture of a violin that's positioned upside-down with a skull face occupying most of the front surface of the body. It's shot in dramatic green light and hanging on a wall. A slightly different view of the same thing. A slightly different view of the same thing. A close up of just the face, so the neck of the violin is cropped out.

Delightful! I collect lots of plain boring rocks to use for my art projects -- not to be part of the art project, but rather to serve as weight when I'm gluing big things together. It's fun to go out and grab some when I need 'em! Feels pretty goblincore.

Well, when I first found it, I did try to take it! 😄 It's embedded really well in a huge chunk of concrete that's mostly underground; I don't even know how big. Like, I guess I could go there with tools and try to extract it. But this is maybe better.

I've memorized some specific branches and stalks of specific plants nearby that sort of point to where the rock is. They change over time and with the seasons, so I have to continually modify my method for finding the rock. Very important work.

This rock is stuck in a big chunk of concrete in a dirt/gravel path that I figure used to be a paved area or maybe part of a foundation. I look for it every day, which takes a minute. It's a delight to find it. I enjoy being the only person on earth who knows where it is. It's this or go to therapy.

It's crazy how every October a lot of Americans still observe a holiday commemorating horror, death, bloodshed, and greed. And also Halloween!
