It might get interesting. What if they're really the gateways through which demons from another dimension possess a soul in this one? Those poor possessed people would need a... thing... to expulse... push the dark star demon out of their mind... what's the word I'm looking for?
Dunning-Kruger in de zorg: iedereen een mening, kennis van zaken is onbelangrijk
Aren't we all, though? Like - variation on the theme: Some people spend their days pushing a viscous mass of words through a rigid mesh - or rather through rigid forms crafted by people they've never even met - often to be met by Windows error sound effects. It's enough to drive anyone bananas.
It is the refraction of past events in your life and the seat's that are at a distorted angle. A jarring tug at your soul makes you slowly realize that you are off - in the wrong place and time, tearing at the strands of the ether, as if caught in a spiders web. Apocalypse is descending around you.
The final drop in the bucket that made me switch from google to Ecosia was the AI text at the beginning. Apart from the added environmental cost, I'm not about to completely give up on findings things out for myself. I might as well stop thinking. It's bad enough that I'm not heading to the library.
it is! (actually, i was gonna say *not* exactly right). Because I read other versions. But one of the wonders of folklore of course is the flexibility and diversity of these stories. Thanks Signe. That made my day quite a lot better :)
I'm thinking of Roesschaert but that's exactly right, is it?
From the position of the wheels, I reckon that she was originally sitting square before the camera, but then turned left to cast a right-handed spell on the photographer.
Good luck, Signe Maene :)
Can we have Susan come over from Discworld? Just for a bit, please? I feel like everything would be OK.
A sub-demographic defined by their vivid memories of 'age of empires'
Regressieve belasting. Uiteraard... De NVA weet voor wie ze werkt: Brasschaatse villa's eerst.
A storm whistles through my ribs, and little rivulets of rain pause temporarily on my hipbones before cascading down into my shallow grave.
There are scattered historic precedents for this sort of thing: encircling an area, or a city, and completely destroying it - including mass murder of its inhabitants. The massacre of Béziers has strong parallels. Nazi cataclysms like Warsaw. The siege of Carthage. Others, in their own terrible way.
"Was run over. Dead? Almost. But what she said about that accursed bus. It isn't that. What tilts the ground beneath me is how she said it, and more terrifying: when."
'The Stand' uiteraard. Als er nu één boek toepasselijk is. Dat had onze Stephen waarschijnlijk wel zien aankomen. Edoch, een mooie accolade voor zijn volgende.
To the balaclava killing snugly
and goggles savoring calamity
may your soul
reckon with your mind
and your peace like my peace
sever
forever
Bitterly fills this searing bloom
our shielded childhood room
enter hound
thrown to ground

A solid soft gestalt now it’s
a refuge torn to atom pieces
Dad’s dead
Mom taken

Amid the sorrow and the lead
blood along the faultlines spread
Pollock
on the floor
Bitter black smoke billows
over the windows
it bites
and we hide

Burns into the keyhole
inside our home grows
cancer
demands an answer

Motherlove-filled knitted pillows
hide desperate to cover harrows
comes the scythe
steeped in spite
... waarbij liefde voor de grote leider enkel wordt geëvenaard door nostalgie naar de jaren '50
Of hoe 'realpolitik' eigenlijk een zwak excuus is om in het verleden te leven.
It's the curls, obviously
