“Millions of Americans are impacted by long Covid, and they deserve a federal government that will have their back,” Virginia Sen. Tim Kaine told Rolling Stone.

“The Trump administration is not only failing to achieve those goals, but actively taking us in the wrong direction.”

“We are told by leaders that we are the future. But when it comes to the ongoing pandemic, our present is being stolen right in front of our eyes.”

Incredible speech by Violet Affleck who warned about the ongoing dangers of COVID & Long Covid, & advocated for masks and clean air at the UN today!
I was honored to participate in this process and include my thoughts on why Dave the Potter belonged on the list.
Was going to recommend this book! I think it’s the most gorgeous historical writing I’ve ever read. I, too, listened on audio book. Sometimes I would have to pause to recover from the power of a single sentence.
Are there any virtual events planned as part of the book launch?
The first conference last year was incredible! If you are a children’s lit scholar, librarian, or K-12 educator, please consider submitting a proposal.
Perhaps a local fencing organization? Or perhaps one of the independent schools has a fencing program and you could access the coach’s name from the website?

I can't believe I need to have an AI policy! I made it pretty short though: Using AI is cheating, yourself mostly. In addition to the environmental blight created by AI, it makes no sense to use it in your intellectual and creative work. Why would you outsource your innate intelligence?

@xeniahadj.bsky.social and I love the tailpiece illustrations at the end of Samuel Wood and Alexander Anderson’s early 19th century children’s natural history books.
Grateful for this review from @tcrecord.bsky.social. There are so many ways to engage K-8 students in rich opportunities for critical thinking, deep reading, and meaningful composing using literature for children, tweens, and teens.
In their book, Drs. Dawes, Cunningham, Enriquez, and @macappiello.bsky.social “give an invitation of multigenre writing to cultivate critical consciousness.” Read Dr. Kesler’s review here: buff.ly/TXEvP2L @tcpress.bsky.social

If Rubio looked in a mirror, an examination of current state department actions and the defunding of USAID would be at the top of the “un-Christian” activities/beliefs.
Can’t wait to read this!

When we worry about the declining rates of literacy and a lack of reading skills, it's often about children. But how often are adults reading these days? And what are we reading? A new NPR/Ipsos poll finds out.
Most Americans want to read more books. We just don't.
