Windows seen through a train window approaching Milsons Point station

From my archives, when I worked at North Sydney

#windowsOnwednesday #wednesdaywindows #windowswednesday #photography #reflection
Tall buildings on either side of the frame, with sun, clouds and smaller buildings in the middle. The sun is low in the sky, close to sunset during November in daylight saving. The clouds are starting to colour yellow and bruised purple and are reflecting on the building on the left. The building on the right is seen more in silhouette, and some lights are visible on one of the floors.

More bottlebrush for #ColorADay #RedWed

#photography #flowers #bloomscrolling
Two red bottlebrush flowers and leaves, growing on the trunk of a tree. The trunk of the tree is blurred in the background, filling the frame.

Pink and bruised purple clouds, from the balcony during an evening shift

From my archives

#AlphabetChallenge #WeekPforPink #photography #sunsets #sunset #clouds #sky
Looking west, not long after sunset, over a silhouette of a tall building on the left, trees and lower buildings on the right. The sky is filled with clouds, layers of pink and bruised purple in colour.

A mild Monday morning and the sky with a light dusting of clouds

#photography #BlueSkyMonday #clouds
Blue sky with what looks like a light dusting of clouds, possibly cirrocumulus. Trees and a park lamp are in the foreground.

Littering or natural composting?

#ColorADay #OrangeSun #discarded #photography
A piece of discarded citrus peel that is orange, lying in the sun in a garden bed beside the footpath. The peel looks as though it has been there for some time. Two small mall twigs lie across the peel. In the garden bed are fallen leaves, what looks like wood chips, and sticks and other twigs. The footpath is in the lower right corner of the frame. In the top left of the frame is another orange piece of peel, not immediately obvious, in the shade.

Treasure flowers in a kerb island, from last week as today is overcast and now windy

#SundayYellow #SensoryArt #shadows #bloomscrolling #flowers #photography
Several yellow flowers, some in focus and fully visible, some not. They are spilling over the white edge of a kerb island from where (which?) they are growing, as seen from an angle above. There are shadows of the flowers and leaves on the edge.

Foxtail agave (Agave attenuata) in the afternoon sun

Very, very similar to but not the same photo used for previous challenges (which I think I prefer). From my archives February 2025

#BlueSkyArtShow #Glow
#ColorADay #GreenSat
#plants
Extreme close up view of the middle of a foxtail agave plant, with surrounding leaves. The sun is shining from behind, giving the appearance of a very bright white light between two leaves, that is lighting up the centre of the plant.

A crimson rosella eating an allocasuarina seed on a cloudy day, just off the Prince Henry Cliff Walk, Katoomba

Have posted a photo of this bird for a previous challenge, this different pose is for #BirdOfTheDay #Beakful
#photography #birds #nature
Crimson rosella eating an unidentified allocasuarina seed, head slightly down. The seed is being held in a claw and lifted to the beak. The background is grass, trees and small fallen branches and sticks, some of which are slightly obscuring the bird.

That post sunset glow

Bicentennial Park, Glebe looking over the Rozelle Interchange, the ventilation stacks visible in the distance

From my archives, April 2024

#BlueSkyArtShow #Glow #sunsets #sunset #photography #skyline
Not long after sunset, with an orange glow grading through to a purple sky above a silhouette of yacht masts, cranes, dwellings, trees and three linked exhaust stacks. A body of water is below the silhouette, the glow from the sky seen on the surface, along with a motor boat travelling right to left. Land is in the lower left corner, where the photo is taken from, with long grass visible in silhouette.

Today's shadows courtesy of the light rail overpass at Marion Street Leichhardt

#SensoryArt #Shadows #photography
A section of road with shadows from the light rail overpass. The overpass has a grid like covering that is making shadows on the steel girders and rivets, along with parts of the track etc . On the brown brick wall retaining wall below the overpass is an ad for Levis and also an unidentified plant growing over it. Beside the wall on the left are tall trees in an unidentified football park, and a traffic light

Windows on reflection
From my archives

#windowsOnwednesday #wednesdaywindows #windowswednesday #photography #reflection
A puddle between a wet footpath on the left and wet road on the right. A yellow line runs alongside the curb, broken only for a street drain. Windows from across the street are reflected upside down on the surface of the puddle. One window in arch shaped, two are square. Some fallen dead leaves are on the footpath, floating on the water and also under the water.
