Not yet, but the pilots have figured out a way to circumvent it. I can’t remember what it was. I was working at the flight line at Pendleton and one of the pilots told me about it. For some reason the pilots actually prefer to fly the MV-22’s but you need to be an experienced pilot to fly it.

You must not have been to East County 😂 I went to High School out there and it is almost as dumb as living in Yuma. When I was younger we had the corrupted Duncan Hunter (senior) who was kicked out of congress for receiving kickbacks from federal contractors. They still wanted to vote for him.

The reason why this shut down doesn’t hurt either party (& you’re delusional if you think your side is winning) is because of how divided our constituency is right now. Both parties will come out of this with stronger support from their base thinking they’re winning. This is a lead up to civil war.

Yep for sure. It’s been basically an unwritten law up there. People generally understand they are safe despite all the military exercises and the occasional accident involving a downed helicopter or MV-22.

Yep, that whole area used to be deep red with mostly marine families living there. It was Daryl Issa’s district until he couldn’t handle the MAGA anymore and now he’s representing East County. The poorest part of SD and he’s the richest congress member in house.

Ok, yeah that’s almost typical Camp Pendleton stuff. Luckily I don’t go anywhere near north county unless I wanna go surfing, but people up there are so used to listening to mortar rounds and helicopters buzzing over head.

Oh for sure. I do everything I can to not drive when I don’t have to because I hate driving so much but if the 5 were shut down and I had to drive then I’d be going insane.

Is this over by Camp Pendleton then? I haven’t heard about this. I’m used to hearing a ton of military exercises around here in San Diego but they usually don’t use live fire near the cities.

I just spent the last 2 weeks working at the marine base in Twentynine Palms so I’ve been out of the loop.

I think it’s more of rural vs city. Both my brother and my kids uncle in Wisconsin live sort of in the sticks. Although I sort of grew up in the town my brother continues to live in, I never adapted when we moved up there from LA. I got out of there as quickly as I could.

I will say though that my kid has cousins her age out in Wisconsin that are total MAGATs. She has to visit them every year and they annoy her. But her uncle is more of an Gen-Xilinial born in the early 80’s. My brother is less than a year younger than me and he is total MAGA (1/)

I’ve been training my kiddo since she was a little one. Now she is 21 years old & living in the war ravaged Portland front lines.

I’d say that this is a byproduct of a generation raised by Gen-X; one of the most nihilistic and cynical generation out there.

If it doesn’t happen soon, Trump will manufacture the crisis and ensure that it happens. We’re dealing with rats trapped in a cage knowing if they lose power they will go down for high crimes. They’re going to start a war before we get to them.
