News: In honor of Sister Jean, who died earlier this month at the enviable age of 106, Loyola Chicago will wear this patch on its basketball jerseys this season, the school tells CBS Sports. An initial gesture—with more to come, surely—to recognize Sister Jean’s impact on the school and the city.

That does not surprise me. You have to think of KK’s salary as the acquisition cost, not a measure of his true value. Impossible to unwind the two.

This will end up OK for UNC, though, because as bad as UNC boosters and NC politicians are at hiring football coaches, some of them have a lot of experience navigating messy, expensive divorces.

I STAND CORRECTED

The great @d1scourse.bsky.social reports that John Thompson — yes, ECU’s John Thompson — had matching GoDaddy.com Bowl wins as interim HC in 2012 and 2013 at Arkansas State.

That’s one fewer victory than he had in two seasons at East Carolina (3-20).
