Greetings, new followers who aren't bots!

Brief synopsis:

I'm a nerdy event planner with fantasies of writing or arting full time if I were to ever win the lotto. I'm allergic to the sun (THE SUN!!!) and am a delicate alpine flower who would REALLY love to live above the 50th parallel...

Hey, it's me! Without a hat and scarf and mask on! (Because I was not a) indoors in a public place, or b) outside, where the SUN and pollen live) I'm your average Pasty White Girl with hair that's been going all Rogue From X-Men for awhile. Volume depends upon the humidity level...

I'm wearing a cool black tshirt with a Ouija board pattern on it in this photo, but I have a vast (VAST) collection of nerdy tshirts, many of which involve dinosaurs, Star Wars, or Star Trek.

Celebrating #TiaraTuesday at work, but my hair wonders if you think it feels humid in here?

A selfie taken with my webcam at work. I have a skeptical expression, as my salt and pepper curly hair struggles to escape its tidy bun behind a black jeweled tiara. So much tiny curly frizz! I'm feeling kind of beige, today - as I'm wearing a beige long sleeve shirt (FINALLY! It's cool enough for long sleeves!) and a beige infinity scarf with dictionary pages printed on it. A turquoise and green pashmina style shawl is draped over the back of my chair, and in the background is a large wall hanging printed with a magical forest. I've strung tiny white faerie lights around it, and taped a picture of some Ewoks at the base of one of the trees. Off to the side, my mini fridge is piled high with boxes of assorted teas.

A 4-in wooden embroidery hoop with a working project on black fabric. The entire work consists of assorted shades of green brown and gray, in assorted sizes of French knots. Lady Astrid's Liminal Shoppe has popped up in the middle of #VoltCon 's Space Mall!

A six foot vendor table draped in an ear doesn't gold and blue cloth, with an overhead arch with sparkly blue and gold Fabrics draped over them sits in a ballroom. There are multiple displays with sparkling hand-painted necklaces, hamstrung beaded prisms, some Tiaras, and some tiny paintings next to a small sign that says what is this? Fine art for ants? It looks really empty in the background, but that is only because the tables back there are for the special guests of honor, who are currently on the main stage.

I lost the cork for this little glass globe, and had a hilarious (in my head) idea of a ghost in space, but it had to wear a space helmet.

So, I pulled out some roving and made one!

I'm not sure if it needs some extra accessories, or if this is funny enough on its own.

A little loosely needle-felted ghost made from undyed wool roving. There are two little beads for eyes, and the whole "head" is shoved into a small glass globe, while the rest of the ghost trails below it.

Meanwhile, the "normal" sized trucks and SUVs are so huge here that I, a 5 ft tall human, am not even as tall as the front of them... 😭

Ah, so you are at Stage 3.

A single panel comic by @findchaffy, titled The 4 Stages of Eating CHEESE. There are four pictures, featuring a critter that looks like... a white ball with short bunny ears? It is also wearing a Santa hat.

In each "stage", the protagonist is sitting next to a plate with what looks like a wedge of brie, a wedge of swiss, and smaller chunks of some other hard cheeses. In stages 1, 2, and 4, the picture is the same - with the protagonist happily chewing next to the plate.

Anyway, the stages:
1. Eating cheese.
2. Still eating cheese.
3. Ate too much cheese. [Protagonist has a slightly ill expression, with green on its cheek, tongue sticking out in disgust or dismay, and a little green curlicue emanating from it...]
4. Bit more cheese.

Heck, I still remember the phone number we had when I was a kid. I haven't had that number for nearly 40 years, but somehow I remember that better than I remember my mom's current number.

Did people really memorize phone numbers before cell phones, or is that just a movie thing?

I was watching some old shows from the 90s and noticed people would just dial numbers from memory - like they'd call their friends or family without looking anything up.
Made me wonder if that was actually normal back then? Did people genuinely have all their important numbers memorized, or did most folks keep a little address book or written list nearby?
