It feels authentic in a way that most things no longer do. Like, there's no buzzwords, no marketing speak, just an honest expression of this rad thing that you want to make. I'm down, hope a publisher is, too.

This is the best thing that I've read all year. Losing people you love is horrible, and losing them to something like cancer is... well, it's mostly indescribable. Hopeful that, as a society, we can actually do some good for folks with this technology

Today is the birthday of writer, artist, & editor Joe Simon (Oct. 11, 1913-Dec. 14, 2011). With artist Jack Kirby, cocreator of Captain America, Manhunter, Boy Commandos, Guardian & the Newsboy Legion, the romance comics genre, & more. He also created Brother Power the Geek & cocreated Prez.

In all seriousness, publishers are going to have to figure out how to market books in the post-social-media landscape. That should be an implicit part of their job. What authors/artists can do on their own is increasingly limited and siloed.
