In the Jewish faith, if the person is declared dead and no body is ever recovered, the mourning period and other rituals are still observed as if a burial has taken place. The key is the declaration of death, not the physical presence of a body. So, an excuse for phase 2

Arrived in Chicago early this morning and caught a ride downtown on their incredibly accessible public transit.

I walked the last few blocks to the hotel behind a running group happily speaking Spanish and laughing.

For me, it immediately calmed my fears and reminded me how great Chicago is.
