Hi, everyone!

I'm a literary translator & Shakespeare scholar set on translating EN adaptations of Shax into Spanish. My master's thesis outlines a method for doing so, which I demonstrate with the first ever❗Sp. trans. of Nahum Tate's The History of King Lear (1681). The Enchanted Island next?

My Spanish translation of Arthur Conan Doyle's 'Shakespeare Expostulation' has been accepted for publication in Hermeneus (2027)!

Revised and re-submitted Doyle's poem somewhere else after rejection; now to revise Tate, also rejected.

I've submitted three translations so far this year:

- Baldwin, 'Why I Stopped Hating Shakespeare' (published)
- Nahum Tate, King Lear (awaiting review)
- Doyle, 'Shakespeare's Expostulation' (awaiting review)

Given it is the anniversary of the Battle of Hatings today and also given that I don't have time to write anything new at the moment, here's my thread on kingship in the eleventh century for you to enjoy, yell at, or whatever. #medievalsky #skystorians #normans

For the anniversary of the Battle of Hastings, 1066, here is thread on why 'who was the rightful king?' is the wrong question to ask, why we don't know the complete story and why that makes things more interesting. 1/ #medievalsky #skystorians #historyedu #historyteachers

Welcome to the wacky world of regnal codes and statute dating!

My source for the text, which gives the year as 1563, can now be found at:

From the moon to the sun. We were delighted to encounter Luke Jerram's beautiful model of our brightest star at Bristol Cathedral yesterday. Helios is a beautiful, restless, swirling counterpart to the still, cold elegance of his Museum of the Moon. Catch it on tour while you can!
