George III didn't rule by executive fiat. British kings haven't done that for a very long time

Also during George III periods of mental illness, parliament stepped in, appointed his son as Regent etc. He wasn't roaming around giving speeches and making laws by fiat and that was something he couldn't do anyway.

I'd argue he's more like Henry VIII. George III wasn't considered a tyrant in Britain.

Calls are dotted all over a wide area. Everyone is pushed for time and travelling in different directions.

This is advice that's completely impractical to anyone doing the job.

I've worked as a carer in the community.

I never travelled in a group, you turn up solo to most calls and meet there if it's a call that needs two people. I think I gave a colleague a lift twice the whole time I did the job, and then it wasn't their entire journey.

It used to be under 21 for marriage. My Dad needed permission from his parents (and his commanding officer because he was in the army) to marry my Mum.

The age of consent hasn't changed in the UK. It's still 16.

It's illegal at 18 if it's a person with responsibility for them like a teacher or coach.

Either way, what the law is where you are is what counts and some girls were under 16 and many trafficked to other territories to be exploited.
