“When they try to describe this situation as ‘war-torn,’ it becomes much harder to take them seriously when they have to post a video saying Kristi Noem is up on the balcony staring over the Antifa Army and it’s, like, eight journalists and five protesters and one of them is in a chicken suit.”

Lol the Nobels can't even acknowledge women's contribution to discovery. But sure let's acknowledge The Machines.
Headline from an article in Nature this week that states "Prizes must recognize machine contributions to discovery. The future of science will be written by humans and machines together. Awards should reflect that reality."

Last night I could not put this book down. The opening chapter is 🤯 and the final chapters full of great ideas about what we can collectively do to ensure women & underrepresented groups stay in science. We need diversity in science as diversity breeds discovery

Today my @nytimes.com colleagues and I are launching a new series called Lost Science. We interview US scientists who can no longer discover something new about our world, thanks to this year‘s cuts. Here is my first interview with a scientist who studied bees and fires. Gift link: nyti.ms/3IWXbiE

One of the bravest things you can do is to admit you need help & to seek it out. One of my best friends did just that today & I throw all the love her way as a small way to help get her through this challenging time.
