Californians are already getting notices that their health care premiums will skyrocket in 2026 if the ACA tax credits aren’t extended. Millions of Americans will see a 114% AVERAGE annual increase. That’s ridiculous and unsustainable.

If Republicans don’t vote to extend the ACA tax credits, a 60-year-old couple making $80,000 would see their health care costs increase on average by $17,500 a year.

We’re weeks out from the health insurance open enrollment period and House Republicans are playing politics with Americans’ health care.

“Clean energy sources help both hold down costs for Americans and prevent the U.S. from having to import so much foreign oil from countries hostile to our interests.”

I’m supportive of cheap energy. Clean energy IS cheap energy and improving our energy sources will keep us competitive with China.

In just a few days, Californians will see letters in their mailboxes telling us how much premiums will rise.

We can’t push off the health care conversation. Congress must take action now or it will force many to pay DOUBLE for their health insurance.

The ACA tax credits matter to Californians because they bring down health insurance premiums. If Republicans let them expire, we’re doing a disservice to all of our constituents.

We are 10 days into the Republican shutdown and Speaker Johnson still refuses to bring the House back to D.C.

Not only is he unwilling to make a deal to keep health care costs low, he’s also turning his back on service members and their families. This is unacceptable.
levin.house.gov
Here’s what I’m fighting for:
1. Our service members and their families
2. Lower health care costs for MILLIONS across this country
3. Health insurance for over 660,000 Californians that could lose it if Congress doesn’t act
4. Seniors and working families who face skyrocketing costs

Speaker Johnson MUST call the House back to D.C. to ensure our service members get paid on October 15th. He is unwilling to give military families the security they deserve.

It's not partisan—it’s governing, and House Republicans are choosing to gamble military paychecks.

This fight is about protecting affordable health care for millions of Americans. We will not back down.

Visited the Oceanside Navigation Center earlier this week with Mayor Esther Sanchez. The shelter houses 50-75 people, helping them get back on their feet and into permanent housing. Proud to have delivered $2.25 million in federal funding to support this project.

Millions of Californians will soon receive notices that their health care premiums are about to DOUBLE.

Meanwhile, House Republicans are on VACATION instead of doing their jobs, even though states like Texas and Florida could be hit even worse!

Visited Oceanside Fire Station 1 yesterday — a state-of-the-art facility completed last year with $3.5 million in federal funding I helped secure. Our firefighters risk their lives to protect Oceanside and Camp Pendleton, and they deserve excellent facilities like this.

Social Security is a lifeline for millions of Americans, including many that are unable to work due to disability.

The Trump Admin is going against their word and SLASHING Social Security, cutting the benefits of retirees and those with extreme medical conditions.

In California, 660,000 could be priced out of health care coverage if the ACA premiums aren’t extended.

That means parents in Oceanside, small business owners in Carlsbad, seniors in Solana Beach, and families in Encinitas will lose their health care.

Republicans are refusing to negotiate an end to this shutdown and Russ Vought's vindictive power grab is disgusting, irresponsible, and illegal.

Hard-working Americans should not be victims of political games.

Trump signed the law in 2019 that guarantees federal workers back pay after a shutdown. I voted for it in Congress.

The Trump Administration cancelled $8 billion in Department of Energy grant funding—including $3.3 BILLION of funding in California—for projects that would lower energy costs for Americans.

I led my colleagues in demanding that DOE reinstate these projects. This is unacceptable.
