If I remember right, there was a hypothetical in court in the TRO case against ICE about what if protestors blocked emergency medical care. At the time (3 days ago? ) folks said ICE was more likely to do so, and here's the example already.

One reason street & protest medics exist is bc municipal first responders may not always be able to provide urgent care to patients if streets are closed or they are too far away. But even when EMS services do have access, ICE’s ability to block them without consequence should horrify is all.

ICE agents blocked an ambulance that was trying to take an injured protester to hospital.

"We are still not being allowed to leave by ICE officers.” an EMT said on radio

When driver tried to get out, an agent yelled, "DON’T YOU EVER DO THAT AGAIN, I WILL SHOOT YOU"

It’s a complicated dynamic. Without police at Broadview, the feds escalated at-will, deploying chemical munitions & physical force without provocation. The police presence has provided an argument against deploying the National Guard & ppl haven’t gotten gassed. But it frees ICE agents to grab ppl.
