I agree. I personally believe Benedict XVI is in heaven, but I would rather not see a rush to canonize.

When did they remove Josemaría from the calendar?
So, if this were to happen, it's pretty clear that the practices they're in trouble for go back to the founder ... who was declared a saint in 2002. Is there historical precedent for something like that?
7yo loves pretending everything is his classroom at school, so we have signs all over the place that say "NO NUTS".
Can’t believe Patrick and Fr Paul would do this
also … if he’s saying this comes from St Paul, wouldn’t that make it absolutely foundational to “the West”?
Also compared to Tertullian especially, he’s so much deeper and not two dimensional.
I’m working on translating a German theological text about Augustine, and I’ve had to read a lot of his stuff in that context, but also a good bit of Tertullian, Optatus, Cyprian … and Augustine is SO much more readable.
Also, a frat house is only a “masculine” environment if you have a stunted view of manhood.
Tbh I think we ought to re-masculinize society through the dispensation of brutal, merciless justice to the class of intellectual quislings who are trying to carry us back to the middle ages
This is so much stupider and more brazenly dishonest than 2003.
Daines on Trump edging toward open military confrontation with Venezuela: "You can't win by only having your defense on the field. You've gotta put your offense on the field. Why is the president taking this decisive action? 100,000 Americans died every year because of drug overdoses."
Here in Louisiana, we always go to Bourbon Street at 3 am to celebrate the solemnity of Mary, Mother of God.
This is just an amazing level of deliberate stupidity. GWB literally had better reasons to go into Iraq.
My favorite Arroyo moment (that a family member earnestly shared) was when he speculated that the Bourbon Street NYE trick attack might have been motivated by anti-Catholic bigotry because 1/1 is a Holy Day of Obligation
Um akshually William of Ockham is what got us Woke and Walmart
(This sounds awesome, but can you elaborate)
Next you will tell me that Marx did not murder several million Chinese people.
Are you telling me, sir, that ideas don't automatically have a definite telos towards certain consequences that can be retrospectively laid at the feet of people who didn't even live to see those downstream consequences? How dare you.
So sad that Adam ended up there because some of his other (earlier?) stuff was really good.
I'm thinking this will pair nicely with the Stephan Zweig memoir I'm reading.
That's a lot of Hamas terrorists, illegal aliens, and violent criminals.
It's really so crazy to me how like no one can understand nuance, but I guess it has always been so.

I just read a book about the 30 Years War and was imagining how zero-sum apologists of any stripe would try to spin it (I mean tbf the standard view in English and German was "Protestant Glory")
Okay but what if Franco was a loyal son of the Church and these people are actually super serious and pious and not actually vicious nihilists?
He's got to know this is how his name is being used now, huh?
