We had 6 this yr and avg 0-8 in the 22 yrs we’ve been in well-populated suburb. Here’s the thing:
1. No sidewalks on our street
2. Not enough street lights
3. Few TorT-age kids close by
4. Few houses on the block
participate

I have good chocolate for those who come & snack on what’s left.

We had 6 tonight at our house.

When I was little, we lived on the first street “in town”, so got oodles of visitors. We ran out of candy one year, and Mom had us sort thru our haul and give her any we didn’t like. She gave that out to a few more kids before we turned off the light.

“Buy candy I like” has become my Halloween philosophy. We have 0-8 kids per year, so I always have to have SOME ready. 6 so far tonight and it’s 8:40, so I imagine it’s time to turn the light off.

"Best by" is different labeling than "Use by." "Best by" means some of the quality may be reduced...and it probably will go bad sooner after it's opened. "Use by" is a more of a "likely to go bad by," though even that isn't 100% true.
