The Conclusion!

Full shojo, fluff, and self-indulgence! I pulled some dialogue that Lich!Emmrich says for this. I think he’d come to the same realizations on his mortal path, he might just arrive there a bit later.

Predominantly in the background is the statue of the skeleton lovers from the Memorial Gardens. Wisps dance above it. In a panel just it’s right, Emmrich places the gift box in Laelia’s hands as he answers the question from the previous page: “Adoration.”

On the left, Laelia looks up at Emmrich with shining eyes, his hand on her check. He continues: “From you.”

I love religious dilemmas in fiction where faith/vows are questioned by an individual due to love or other life-altering events. You can probably guess what my Rook confesses to him here😌

I chose this theme specifically because I'm a sucker for the "tormented priest" trope. I think it suits Emmrich well historically, if he had lived in our universe at that time. In my AU after his parents' tragic deaths, the priests who arranged their burial take him in, placing him in a monastery

I collaborated with Lunette and illustrated her story "What connects and devours". An AU that has some Bloodborne influence and darker undertones, hence the more gritty style of the illustration. :)

Emmrich from Dragon Age the Veilguard performs necromancy to animate a skull. Painting style is based on Leyendecker’s art deco character paintings, with very warm tones and a black background. Emmrich’s hands are raised, with turquoise magic flowing through his figures and through ye skull, which is levitating to about chest high.
