Yes! It sucks! Sorry you're going through that.
I love this. It's such an intimate experience to be trusted to do this for someone.
I'm not saying that this vaccine is currently kicking my ass but I will say that, based on how hot my eyeballs feel each time I blink, it seems as if my immune system is going to be *hella* prepared for any nonsense! 🥴

😁 You know me too well.
Yes! Luckily I have my handy-dandy light box. (10k lumens, bay-bee!) Between that and melatonin I should be set.

Failing that, there's always (insert sleep aid name here) and, Stephen the sleep paralysis demon. He is a great motivator to get back on track! 😣
One of them might make it! (If they stop being such a self-centered schmuck.) #WeeknightWriters
A5:
The best thing for me to focus on right now is getting my circadian rhythm on track as soon as humanly possible. Sleep is the key to everything, it seems!

Q5: What steps can you take in the next week to prepare for #FirstDraftFall? #WeeknightWriters
A4:
I'm deciding the fates of a few characters who repeatedly put the rest of the group in a dangerous position by refusing to try to learn how to communicate clearly and effectively without falling back on maladaptive patterns or needlessly burning others.

Q4: Are there any story aspects or plot points you're still trying to figure out before #FirstDraftFall? #WeeknightWriters
App, have you eaten anything lately? You keep crashing out and spiraling like an unfed, overstimulated toddler on the verge of a meltdown.

Have a snack or something.
A3: (take 4, ffs...)
No, I'm not using a structured outline method and yes, I absolutely know where this is going and how we are going to get there. Sadly, the details of the falling society expand with the revelation of each new horror in our own crumbling reality.

Q3: Are you using a structured outline method for your #FirstDraftFall story? If your pantsing, do you have a general sense of direction of where your story will be going? #WeeknightWriters
I appreciate it and wish that I could take credit. It's a line from of the song "Easily" by Bruno Major, who is a brilliant songwriter and musician.

Doesn't Mean We Shouldn't Try is about a group of people working to find community, connection, and healthy ways to navigate interpersonal relationships while traveling to safety through the ruins of a crumbling society and evading the mysterious uile-bhèist.

Q2: What is your #FirstDraftFall story about? Share a little or as much as you feel like! #WeeknightWriters
Wow, I didn't catch that! If you're going to be a panther, might as well be a chaotic panther!

The Fankendrafting IS real and incredibly intimidating!
A1:
My plotting/writing style alignment is currently True Plantser. When I began writing in earnest I was recovering from a concussion and started out at a Chaotic Panther, but as I healed I became a Neutral Pantser and wrote in order. I aspire to ascend to being a Neutral Plotter.

Q1: Since we're talking about plot, we figured it would be fun to see how you plot! Based on this nifty chart, what is your plotting/writing style alignment? #WeeknightWriters
Hello, #WeeknightWriters!
I'm Kate.

My #FirstDraftFall WIP is called Doesn't Mean We Shouldn't Try. It's about a growing group of people working together to find community and safety amidst a crumbling society.

I attempted to plot things out but decided to rely on an outline and notes, instead.
Hello #WeeknightWriters! Come on in, introduce yourself and your WIP, and let us know how your #FirstDraftFall planning is going! Are you plotting anything? Pantsing? Somewhere in between?
*Always* have a pair of sturdy, sharp safety shears on-hand.
That character may or may not be a real nightmare customer of the past, who got kicked tf out for that ish repeatedly- hypothetically and allegedly of course.
It really is. He's usually a various strait-laced character with a dry sense of humor, but is bounding with glee in this scene. He gradually loosens up once he gains a bit of perspective and actual humility upon meeting someone who he allows himself to really know and who genuinely cares for him.
Very nice! Is that a djembe I spy in the corner?

I was going to dress down as Lady Godiva! However, that's a costume best shared privately and, things being such as they are, I will have to come up with something else this year. Failing that, I might just borrow your idea! 😁
