“Trump’s coalition is white, male, and rural — and for much of the media, white rural men are seen as quintessential Americans. But the opposition to Trump by contrast is multiracial and majority women — and the press does not see non-white men as true Americans worthy of respect.”
Trump shits on America. Why doesn’t the media care?
For many news orgs, Trump’s fascist coalition is uniquely legitimate.

I'm generally OK with Bernie but darned tired of the fact that even Democratic white men will endorse an inexperienced white dude with Nazi tattoos over a qualified woman.
Sen. Bernie Sanders is doubling down on his support for Maine Senate candidate Graham Platner, saying there might be "one or two more important issues" than the Marine veteran's tattoos.
Exclusive: Bernie Sanders slams media's coverage of Graham Platner
"I'm not overly impressed by a squad of media running around," Sanders said.

He’s saying this in front of a group of South Asian-Americans who just hoped he would honor a sacred holiday. What a vile piece of trash he is, every minute of every day.
Trump on Obama's library: "They're stuck. We wanted only women and DEI to build it. Well, that's what they got."
More of this talk from our leaders, please
Brian Schatz: "This is not about money. There is enough money to bail out Argentina with $20b. There is enough money to purchase a brand new aircraft for $173m for Noem. There is enough money to renovate the WH ballroom. What there isn't enough money for under this Republican government is you."

I am completely awestruck by the ease with which Mike Johnson lies on a daily basis. I'll never understand how such a transparently fraudulent "man of faith" can live with themselves. Life is too short to be that phony.
They’ve been claiming to have a better plan (or at least “concepts of a plan”) for TEN YEARS now. Still waiting to hear it and the Dems shouldn’t vote yes until we do.
Ron Johnson: "Let's bring free market competition back into the healthcare industry. Let's bring back way more consumer choice. Rick Scott, an expert in healthcare, he's working with people like myself and the White House, let's design the Republican plan."
Between the ages of 5 and 7 my kid talked constantly about his house in Tokyo (where none of us had ever been)
Read the whole thread: at best, it’s vandalism; at worst, a potential security nightmare.
1/x: This is small-potatoes corruption, BUT

It's worth noting that it takes a LONG time to get a building permit. You have to have full architectural plans that get approved which means you have to draw them up AND pass them to someone who looks them over.

They're breaking the law here.
Scoop: Trump has started demolishing the White House's East Wing facade to build his ballroom. The president had claimed construction of the $250 million building wouldn’t ‘interfere’ with the existing White House structure. /W @ddiamond.bsky.social wapo.st/4hqBNiU

Not sure "if Trump could have silenced dissent by shutting down rallies, trampling on your freedoms, he would have" is quite the argument that the speaker thinks it is.
Mike Johnson: "The irony was that they called it the No Kings Rally, but if President Trump was a king, the government would be open. If President Trump was a king, he would've closed the nationals parks and the National Mall so they couldn't of had the rally out here."
I can still remember my childhood phone number -- which had LETTERS in it. But today, just my own and my kid's cell numbers.
All through episode 6 I was just grinning. What a joy to see Janney and Whitford get to ham it up together again with sharp, funny stuff.
What an interesting optical illusion! Are Mary/the monks painted on top of the capital or is the decoration partially covering the human figures? Or both in a twisty kind of way?
None of the Sunday morning political shows asked the Speaker of the House about this, because they said it was too obscene to show on TV. The leader of the free world has the mental capacity and self control of a toddler and apparently that's not news.

On Jan 6 in DC, ~2500 MAGAs violently protested. DC police reported 174 police injuries, 9 deaths, & 1500+ criminal convictions.

On Oct 18 in NYC, ~100K Americans peacefully protested. NYPD reports 0 injuries, 0 deaths, & 0 arrests.

FACT—Right wing violence remains America’s biggest terror threat.
Very very grateful to everyone who gave their time & energy to showing up for #nokings2 — amazing to see all the beautiful posts & pictures. So important for the nation to see that Americans overwhelmingly want FREEDOM and LOVE.
