I refuse to call him by name or any honorific. He is FOTUS. Politics, cats, 📚, and cooking are my interests. My eyesight is bad. Forgive misspelled words and occasional uncaught autocorrect. I will block misinformation/disinformation No DM's.

to "go in guns-a-blazing" to fight Islamic terrorists attacking "our CHERISHED Christians". He is declaring a holy war by a secular nation. He is also threatening to cut off aid. USAID has already been cut to Nigeria by our insane president. 2/2
Morning thoughts: FOTUS must think that threatening war against other countries is the way to a peace prize. Over the weekend he has threatened Nigeria and Venezuela. It has been an ongoing threat against Venezuela and is only against supposed narco-terrorists. In Nigeria, FOTUS is threatening 1/2

I don't resent poor people who use food stamps to buy another soft drink.

I resent rich people who take away the funds for food stamps to buy another yacht.
Morning thoughts: We are a very rich country but the wealth is very poorly distributed. 10% of the population holds 70% of the wealth. If corporations gave their employees adequate wages, the need for Medicaid, SNAP, subsidized rent, and subsidized childcare would be minimal. Do Better!
IMPORTANT.
ICE and Halloween. Kristie Noem and her cruelty was on full display on Halloween. In areas where ICE is working hard to intimidate the citizens, Noem has said there will be no let-up to allow children to trick-or-treat safely. Shame on you Noem, you monster. 2/2
Morning thoughts: Tuesday is voting day. This is an opportunity to start taking back our country. This ballot will elect governors, local leaders, county commissions, school boards, and local judges. It will have referendums to support local and statewide projects and initiatives. YOUR VOTE IS 1/2
discuss a possible compromise so this long shutdown will last until enough Repug constituents feel the pain and cause enough grief to change a few Repug votes. Unfortunately, we all suffer in the meantime. Our suffering illustrates the conditions due to occur in the Repugs' proposed bill. 3/3
likely to drag out even further than any previous shutdown. Repugs are determined to help the rich gain even more wealth and the rest of us not have healthcare or food or even paychecks. If Dems hold out Repugs must agree to a compromise. It looks as if the Repugs are not willing to meet to 2/3
Morning thoughts: Ohio legislature is voting on a new gerrymandered map today. It is worse than the previous map and will likely add 2 more republicans to the House. Dems are faced with a choice, accept this map or get an even more gerrymandered map.
On another note, the government shutdown is 1/3
take is the one he admired another President for taking. During his first term, he said to Xi Jinping "You're President for life therefore you're king." (April 2, 2019). Xi had declared himself as President for life. FOTUS is going to attempt to do the same. No election, just a declaration. 2/2
Morning thoughts: FOTUS cannot run for a third term as President. He even admits that fact. However, he says he likes the idea of a third term and he believes that there is a path for him to take.
I believe that he is going to try to remain President and I believe the path he has determined to 1/2
Election day is 6 days away.
These off-year elections have the lightest turnout but are most important. This is where we can make a big difference in how the country moves forward. Who is on the school board, city council, or who gets elected as judges, or if various levies pass matters. VOTE. 2/2
Morning thoughts: According to the news today Israel has ended the ceasefire that was FOTUS's grand claim for the Nobel Peace Prize. Netanyahu is back to ordering genocide in Gaza.
FOTUS is making a fool of himself in SE Asia and Hegseth is insulting military members with beards. 1/2
through the same adverse situation by paying her other bills (phone, internet, gas, electric). SNAP is how she makes ends meet. There are many people in the same situation. 2/2
Morning thoughts: SNAP... my granddaughter works a full-time job. She got paid last Friday. She paid her Section 8 rent, her car payment on an older model used KIA, and had less than $50 left for gas and food for the next two weeks. She depends on SNAP to make it to her next payday when she goes 1/2
Walmart, McDonalds, Starbucks, I'm looking at you and companies like you. If your CEO's can be paid millions, your employees can make a living wage. 2/2
Morning thoughts: FOTUS is attacking the poor and needy again. During shutdowns, there is a $50B fund set aside to provide SNAP benefits. In a move to blame Dems, FOTUS has determined that people on SNAP don't need those funds. Those companies that don't pay a living wage need to step up. 1/2
The House ought to be fired for failure to show up. No private employee would still have a job if they never showed up to work.
Morning thoughts: I saw the news about the Arctic National Wildlife Preserve and just got a little sick. Actually a lot sick. FOTUS and Burgum are the least honorable people on this planet. I hope they both rot in hell.
be funded 2) ACA Healthcare subsidies are running out at the end of Dec. The important date is actually Nov 1 when people have to start deciding on coverage for 2026. If subsidies are not in place, there will be a huge increase in coverage costs for 2026.2/2

It’s ‘too late’ to extend ACA subsidies without major disruptions, some states and lawmakers say
States are worried Congress missed its opportunity to extend enhanced ACA subsidies and lower premiums before consumers start picking plans in a few weeks.

Morning thoughts: Most of the news I read is focused on two things. 1) The destruction of WH property and 2) The attacks on boats in the Caribbean and Eastern Pacific. I see very little about the impact of the shutdown. Two things are happening very soon. 1) SNAP benefits and WIC will no longer 1/2
Additional morning thought: The shutdown is heading toward causing major problems for the poor and medically needy. States have been warned that SNAP benefits may be cut on November 1st. Some insurance programs will raise their rates as subsidies end. Maybe that will bring the GOP to negotiate.
knows how many get training without admitting they have not been vetted. CPB has not met half of its hiring quota for the year. This is a problem that will only get worse. 2/2
Morning thoughts: ICE new hires are not being properly vetted. According to a report on MSNBC, new hires are showing up for training without being properly checked for prior criminal records, drug use, LEO experience or fingerprinted. These are new hires who are admitting lack of vetting. Who 1/2
Today, Jeff Merkley (D-OR) is holding the floor of the Senate for as long as he can stand. If you can, pop in and hear what he has to say. Get some talking points.
