In my various careers, I have been employed by four organizations that had a CEO. My current employer has had 10 CEOs in my 22 years working for the organization.

That's a total of 13 CEOs I've worked under. Of those 3 had any brains at all, and two of them were corrupt.

1 of 13 is not good.

The part where Singal can’t be bothered to ask his servers about their ethnicity, and thus almost certainly is wrong, is telling on himself as well.

Most Middle Eastern residents in Germany are Turkish, for historical reasons that anyone who cares could learn in less than 10 minutes on Wikipedia.

Honestly, if she had opened with this, pointing out that the whole point of the protocol the site runs on is that you can curate your own feed (and pretty easily, at that) that would have been pretty okay.

Instead, she shitposted the whole platform. Pretty dumb, which tracks with CEO-brain.

I haven’t seen the mobile interface, but on PC the dialog boxes are wedged a bit thin in the right side-bar. But by “format” I really meant point-and-click investigation games. This is the only good game of that type that I have ever encountered.

I have a desktop PC for gaming, and a laptop also for gaming, but on the couch I guess. And a linux handheld for gaming, but on the bus? And a Mac laptop for everything, and a Mac mini for backups, and also other stuff. And a PC laptop work gave me, which I just use as a mobile hotspot. And an iPad.

I played it on PC in 2024. I absolutely hate point-and-click investigation games, so I only played it through one time with multiple side-quests that aren’t required.

It’s such a good story, in such a brilliant setting, it even overcame how much I hate the format.

Doxxing means different things to different people.

To most people, doxxing means revealing private information, like a person’s home address.

To conservatives, doxxing means recording or identifying people who are in public spaces where there’s no right to privacy.

One of the many podcasts I listen to (This Machine Kills) made the point that while people in China are finding ways to use AI to increase productivity and quality of life, we've got the capitalist version of AI, and the incentives of the AI creators do not include being an actual benefit to anyone.

Not just on Facebook: my local elementary school now has a dozen regular-degular people who show up every day to run a highly coordinated ICE watch. These people installed Signal and everything.

Last week, I said to my precinct captain that while it absolutely sucks to be under attack by Federal agents,
