Preparations for bicycle commutes in Autumn and Winter are underway!!

Found this yarn in the attic. Pretty sure it's Opal but there was no label on it.
A photo of a knitted sock in progress, on the needles. It is in shades of aqua, pink, and dark grey.
… well, luckily I’m starting a new job, because I just found out that Derwent is expanding the Drawing pencil range and I need that in my life.
When you have taken up micro-crochet and are a bit clumsy...

...I may have stabbed myself right in the nipple with a 0.5mm hook.

Do you need to know this? No. However, please share my pain. Thanks.
Today on "I can't find a pattern I like for what I want to make", I designed a tiny crochet daffodil motif!

Not sure if it's worth writing up the pattern, but it will turn into yet more earrings. I have a collection.

I have a problem.

No, not the number of colourful crochet motifs that are rapidly taking over my existence.

Ends.

None of these ends are woven in.

None.
A collection of many small and colourful crochet motifs. Their ends are hanging out. There are many ends. So many. Too many.
(I have a compressed nerve and the doctor says to immobilise my wrist for two weeks, hence the splint. If I take it off to wash my hands or something, the pins and needles return with a vengeance, so clearly the support is doing something.)
I made glow in the dark earrings and I'm very pleased with them.

I still have some non-skull motifs to block and make earrings out of, but sadly... further creativity is currently forbidden. The splint didn't stop me TRYING to crochet, but alas it is not happening.

Crocheted skull drop earrings, grouped in threes. The skulls are bordered with purple, green and black thread. Crocheted skulls assembled into earrings, with groups of three skulls on each side. This picture is taken in low light, showing that they are glow-in-the-dark. Crocheted skull drop earrings, grouped in threes. The skulls are bordered with neon coral, orange and yellow.
stupid bloody metal bloody stick

...wrist successfully imprisoned. Now I feel like I can't do anything. "Guess you'll have to watch some telly" AHAHAHAHA haha.... yeahno
Just a little bit of mild screeching here over being told to immobilise my wrist for two weeks.
Some algorithm decided I needed to see a headline about the left abandoning their safe space. Some shit about Bluesky being dead/dying/abandoned.

lol. lmao even.

Anyway, back to enjoying creativity.
I haven't! But I'll keep it in mind - if this numbness doesn't go away by Monday I'm gonna go and bother a pharmacist probably. (Because you can never get hold of a doctor on a Monday!)
When you hyperfocus on crochet so hard you actually injure yourself... no crochet allowed now, my hand is buggered and made of pins and needles.

Am I mad about it? Very. And hoping I don't have to go to the doctor.

Anyway here's some earrings. Thinking £15-£18 would be a fair price... hm.
A pair of crocheted earrings in a heart-shaped leaf motif, with irregular wobbly edges. The yarn is variegated green and yellow. A pair of light blue, flower-shaped crochet earrings, with pink beads as an accent. A pair of orange, yellow and white crochet earrings in a flower design.
The most discomfort is in my ring finger for some reason.

Hoping I haven't like... trapped a nerve or something, this sucks I have things to make!!
So um.

My right hand has been kinda numb since about noon. Pins and needles and tingling. Fantastic when I'm in full craft mode... and probably repetitive strain.

Anyway I have been trying to finish some crochet projects!

"Kiwi, you have been crocheting less than a month, why do you just happen to have a 0.6mm crochet hook just lying around" shhhhhhh let me do tiny things
a size comparison of two small crochet projects, on the palm of the hand for scale. One is a bright yellow sun motif. The other is the same motif but blue and TINY.
Something something crochet newbie... I do tend to click with yarny things, so a project on a 2mm hook was only natural. Handmade earring!

Now to try and make that earrings, plural.
A crochet sun motif earring, in variegated yellow/white thread. It has a turquoise coloured bead and a gold tone earring hook.
I'm glad we refused to watch the song contest that will not be named this year.
Don't mind me trying to crochet a whole dang cardigan as a first crochet project!

“Kiwi, you don’t crochet, why have you decided to crochet a whole damn cardigan??”

Shhh.
Screentones, screentones, woooo!! Here’s a completed commission for Kristine, a drawing of Atom from Pluto.

Tried to get a bit more… ‘classic’ in the art style!
A digital portrait drawing of Atom from Pluto, coloured in screentones and given a distressed look. The pose is of him thinking about something, brow furrowed in concentration.
Ugh.

Just... ugh.

Some noisy so and sos are about to be even noisier.
Gotta love finishing knitting a nice thick, fluffy cardigan right when the weather has decided to be too warm for a cardi that thick.
It helps that I am very, very ready to be moving again.

Can’t afford the gym, but I have Ring Fit Adventure, a swimming costume that miraculously still fits, a lift to the pool, and resistance bands.
He clearly did not believe me when I said I was 20kg lighter and physically active before pain and meds. It had been about 18 months at that point.

My post surgery follow-up is in June… so time to drop a dress size or two and get that stamina back to give him a metaphorical middle finger.
