This one looks really close.

I really wanted one of these but my parents refused. Too expensive for them plus they thought all mail-order stuff was a scam. Different times.

I did eventually get a ceramic pendant ocarina from somewhere I don't remember, but it ended up shattering. I still have the pieces in storage somewhere.

Anyway thank you for joining my autism tonight. Go buy something from Songbird Ocarinas.

I wish they had better pictures of these on their website but look at how cute these little wooden ocarina stands are, oh my god.

I know what I'm annoying my cats with this weekend.

HOLY SHIT THEY'VE GOT KALIMBAS AND UKULELES, EVERYONE.

KALIMBAS AND UKULELES.

Also hey they still have a really tempting selection of Zelda-themed ocarinas for those who are interested. Seems like they hit up nerd conventions fairly frequently as well.

I feel like I'm losing my mind looking at some of these. Lookit this Biblically accurate ocarina.

Ah yes, The Grateful Dead. A band known for their... Ocarinas.

They're still around and active! Though it seems they've slightly lost their minds.

Sometime between the releases of Ocarina of Time and Majora's Mask, a company called Songbird Ocarinas began advertising in every single issue of Nintendo Power up until the magazine ended in 2012.

Curious if they were still around, I decided to try their website and...

Different Japanese folklore horror game, but my 'tism really liked how Siren handled its journal/files mechanic. It kept track of *everything* you collected and experienced in meticulous detail, up to and including its overly-complicated timeline of events.

Dark Tales: From the Lost Soul is one of those games that I'm desperately hoping gets an English translation someday because everything about its style and presentation is excellent.

Also this video is just an *excellent* source of great Fabios.
Fabio immediately after fighting a bird with his face and surviving.

Evolution is such a great little dungeon crawler series and I really hope Sting eventually rereleases them in some sort of definitive collection.
They feel underrated even for Sting RPGs, though I can't say I blame people for disliking how much of a tedious grind they can be. I love 'em though.
The North American cover art for "Evolution: The World of Sacred Device" for the Sega Dreamcast. The North American cover art for "Evolution 2: Far Off Promise" for the Sega Dreamcast. The North American cover art for "Evolution Worlds" for the Nintendo GameCube. The Japanese cover art for "Shinkisekai Evolution: Hateshinai Dungeon" (released outside of Japan under the title "Evolution: Eternal Dungeons") for the Neo Geo Pocket Color.

You are one of the few people I would trust with such a topic. You have a genuine love for kusoge and that kind of sincerity is endearing. Pass on that forbidden knowledge. Kusoge are worth preserving!

I've never seen the movie but I have read every volume of the manga. I think part of the reason why I haven't watched it yet is because it doesn't feel like the kind of narrative that could be compressed into a movie, plus the usual "book was better" concerns. Maybe someday I'll check it out.

...Also what the hell is going on in the GunBuster Fandom wiki?
kiteline.bsky.social
It's also so funny to me how running out of budget at the finish line was a recurring issue with Gainax. The entire final episode is in black-and-white and the big epic final battle is downgraded to a storyboards slideshow.

Why didn't anyone tell me GunBuster was so much fun? Watched it over the weekend and it felt like I was twelve years old again watching Evangelion what with all the over-the-top melodrama, screaming, and funky space monsters (yes I know it's the same director).

For a split second my brain thought this was Marina Liteyears.

Oh yeah and this is one of those VNs that you're going to want to play in Japanese as there's a lot of important wordplay that gets lost in the English translation.
