guys… the nail is gone… it couldn’t even survive the night. i had to cut it down to the break, which was absolutely horrid but necessary!
now my finger is visibly in rough shape… but i drenched my nail in a topical antibiotic ointment, let it sit, then SMACKED on a bandage!

if needed, i’m going to put a bandaid on my nail too! i didn’t even notice when i originally “broke” it. i was just scrolling on my phone and was like “wait… my finger hurts more than usual.” sure enough! there it was… not even a full 48 hours after painting my nails for the first time in years 😭💔

once the nail grows out? & the break isn’t SO DEEP DOWN?!? i’ll cut it…
but for now? all we can do is pray the top coat works, allow my nail to grow, then cut it when it’s no longer a life or death scenario…

two day update? my middle fingernail broke.
and not just an “oh no! i have to trim my nail!”
no… i mean BROKE BROKE!!! like snapped so far down my nail bed that cutting my nail isn’t even an option… i can’t cut the nail or i’ll spontaneously combust from the pain!
so for now, i added 3+ top coats.

but i did it! i painted my nails for the first time in years! the color is a sparkly, chrome-ish, darker teal. it reminds me of a peacock 🦚

butterscotch DEFINITELY used up / cashed in one of his “9 lives” in that fall!
but butterscotch is okay! i think my reaction to his fall scared him more than anything. he’s walking just fine, doesn’t react negatively to me touching different parts of his body, & now he’s cuddling w/ me as he purrs.

butterscotch attempted to jump high up, missed, fell, & ate shit BADLY! my heart DROPPED… but thankfully he’s okay!
i was SO worried that butterscotch hurt himself (for a second he was holding up his paw), but as soon as i asked “are you okay?” he walked perfectly, then demanded pets while purring 🤣

during the 1st photo, it was SO painful that my sister (who was visiting, & lives 5 hours away) had to help me get dressed 😭
& prednisone makes me irritated bc i get SO nauseous that i can’t eat! i’m hangry 100% of the time on it 🤣
i’m thankful (but also sad) that you understand! stay strong aspen!

this is a comparison from when i first started noticing my hand changes!
my fingers/hand started to return back to normal after an IV of steroids in the ER, as well as a take home prescription of prednisone (another steroid LOL) 😂 during the first photo (when i was super swollen) my crp was at 23!
