I'm officially SOLD OUT of Apache Revolver here at Kino HQ. There are still copies out there in the world so please contact a zine seller near you if you're looking for one.
Our association rules prohibit most (if not all) signs, but at least we don't have a landlord/property manager posting signs in our stead. I'd be good with seeing that practice banned.
I'm really stoked for this one, great review!
Just got my copy of Last Known Address from @kinolorber.com Wrote about this one a few years back: kino-ventura.blogspot.com/2022/07/to-k...

Any step towards reopening Kenilworth and Cedar Lake Trail connectivity is worth celebrating (even for the grumpiest of Kenwood folk).
Funny, I was joking with a pal at the wine shop about serial killer mashup/kaiju style films. BTK vs. TED!
Walking down Hennepin and noticed Urban Skillet was closed. Looks like a permanent state of affairs.
Snip of Google Maps listing for Urban Skillet Uptown indicating that they're permanently closed.
This is such a great feature. I can't wait for this thing to open up!
We are linking up the new Hennepin Ave bike lane directly with the Bryant Ave bridge over Lyndale. No turning on to Franklin required.
Spent the week watching new stuff. Should probably go back to October viewing this weekend. #LastFourWatched

Maybe one day some of them will rethink their full blooded support for PACs that thrive on urban fear-mongering as well. (Probably not, though)
Hilarious that a couple of real estate investors are beginning to realize that funding and cooperating with a Minneapolis hit piece might be bad for business. www.axios.com/local/twin-c...

For the sake of my blood pressure and sanity, I rarely read copies of H&L Press sent to me. Still, this tracks with what I've glanced at this year.

I should mention that these opinions are just based on my wandering along the Greenway and thinking about things. I've got no data and am not any kind of expert.
1. A lot of people have fully embraced delivery everything. Food, groceries, furniture, clothes. 2. It's still insanely easy to drive around the TC. I see it in my own neighborhood - people drive instead of taking a 20 minute walk. 3. The economy sucks for a lot of folks and going out is a luxury
Those are high numbers, but not so high to justify "empty Uptown condo" theories that surface on occasion. I do wonder how the addition of all of these units didn't really translate to vibrant street level activity. I think it's a combination of a few things.
Reminds me of MPD with non-violent protestors in 2020.
Either the police are mighty and fearless warriors, or they’re scared enough of a sassy 20-something woman to unload a canister of pepper spray in her face from 2 feet away, but they cannot be both.
How cool! I only stopped by for a bit - bought some things at the shop but wasn't able to see a movie. I'll just have to go back, I guess.
I was traveling for work earlier this week and didn't have a lot of movie time, but I'm full steam ahead on my Horror Gives Back list of movies tagged both as horror and crime. #LastFourWatched

I just visited the IFI for the first time last month, what a cool spot!
1997 always holds a special place in my heart because I moved from my home town and started working in an indie movie theater. I got to see a lot of the movies you mention theatrically as a result!
