Yeah, that'd be ideal. I'm not sure funds can stretch to have it replaced very soon, though. Then again, I'd need a handyman anyway. Maybe it wouldn't be much more.
kerendith.bsky.social
Well... It *would* employ people, but they'd probably not have much to do, 'cause my ideas are usually not popular: A Diogenes Club. With cats. I want to leave my house, walk a block, settle in with reading material near a fireplace, and have a nice little quiet place. Except for the cats purring.

lets say a wizard has cursed you with a lot of money. you are going to become permanently brain damaged simply by being in possession of so much money. the only way out of it is to spend a lot of money on something ridiculous and not at all useful

what would you buy to break the curse?
kerendith.bsky.social
🤣

I hope it doesn't hurt too much!

Thanks! Both ideas are for fantasy stories, but one is bleak and the other is fairly sweet, lol.

This is a fun question, so I'm answering for 2 projects that are only ideas and scraps of dialogue.

Project 1: tea, woodsmoke, iron

Project 2: evergreen and apples

What would *your* book smell like if you engaged in a mega weirdo scented pages promotional campaign?

I'm going with the gently mad lighthouse keeper even though I don't own the proper foul-weather gear.

(I almost signed up for CrunchyRoll last week, just to see for a month or something, but I had to be honest and ask myself if $8 was worth it if I'd maybe only watch 5 episodes.

Someone who also likes anime come visit me for a few days, lol.)

(Crap, do my TV and FireStick still work?)
kerendith.bsky.social
...for the 5 tickets.

(I get 45 tickets every month with my library. Different items cost different amounts and have different borrow times. Most series seem to be 5 tickets and... 4 days to watch? I've never gotten close to using all my tickets, but I feel like a goober when I gotta double up.)

Kanopy has the first season (12 episodes) of "Reincarnated as a Sword", an anime series based on graphic novels (that I haven't read). I just started the 3rd episode, but it seems really fun so far!

I wish I could binge-watch a little, though. I'm way too slow to finish it in the time you get...
kerendith.bsky.social
Does it represent you and your kids?
kerendith.bsky.social
"Oh, so that's why you posted about Hasselblad potatoes."

Yes. That is how that happens.

I think I'm funny, but it's really all just my brain misfiring and me repeating its nonsense.

"I swear I thought Christian babies could fly!"

(I have never seen an episode of whatever show I'm referencing.)

It'd be divine. I'm in!

Holy shit, cheese lovers. This is magnificent.
novembergrau.bsky.social
Outside the Camembert museum, cheese imperatrix Marie Harel watches over the town like a Weird Tales bad girl. You there, boy! Is that a vegan Babybel in your hand?
Long shot of a gold and red robed and hooded goddess wielding a ladle and other accoutrements of dairy supremacy, in her glass cabin. Below is a plaque citing the sculptor as Laurent YOKEL. Don't say anything Closer 3/4 pic showing off her splendid raiment and cold, dead eyes. She has the face and body of an 80s boutique mannequin. Profile view with the hills as backdrop.
kerendith.bsky.social
This is amazing! I love it more than I ever thought I could love an 80s mannequin!

I've only bought the credit packs when I knew for sure I'd use them for expensive items like huge history books or Great Courses. 😕

Do you all have a Plus Catalog over there? I'm trying to think of anything to look for if you do. It's probably quite different to mine, though.

He's describing most officials of his administration.

I'm so tired, Jill.

I never saw this one! I gotta put it on my list!

Those were great loaded fries, but, well, new place to me and it turned out their fries have a coating.

I'll get nachos from there sometime. Everything came in nice, separate containers. 'Twas all piping hot! I had so much control over amounts! Which I did not exercise!
kerendith.bsky.social
Eeeeee! That's so exciting! Good luck! 🍀🍀🍀

I read M.R. James's "Rats" and then I bought a collection of Chekhov's short stories. 52 of them!

I decided to spend $5 to get a recent translation, even though I'm sure there are many free ebook editions.

I could probably pause the acquisition of short story collections now, but that's no fun.

I think I'm gonna go read a short story about something nice, like a demon or a vengeful ghost.
