I don’t hate the idea of using computers (ai or not) for things like cognitive behavioral therapy — but the idea of developing “friendly” relationships or sexting with an AI feels incredibly dystopian to me, peak loneliness and sadness

I know the headline everyone's running with is "erotica" but "we have been able to mitigate the serious mental health issues" and "we are putting personality back in ChatGPT so it will act like a friend" are diametrically opposed statements

that's the cause of most of the mental health issues

Celebrity seems to be RC's version for people who want to chill more / and slightly older folks than their standard. There were a few kids on the boat, but I saw maybe 20-30 out of a couple thousand passengers. No water slides. No smoking in the casino, i think the smoking area was on a side deck.

I was on the Celebrity Summit on this one. It was nice in that the ship isn't SUPER big, so it was easy to get to know it quickly. 4 nights was prob about the right amount for it. Do you have a favorite line/ ship?

I wasn't sure how I'd feel about the "going alone" bit, but ya know, it was kind of fantastic. I do love traveling with Jer, but there is also something to be said for just being on your own while on a trip and doing exactly what feels right. Glad to have added this pattern into the mix.

If you enjoy cruises at all, it might work well-- ships have a fair amount of activities like crafts and group exercise you can do to get in some "people time". And there's often a meetup for solo travelers, so you can see meet some folks who you can say hello to when you cross paths on the ship.

Finished up a four night solo cruise adventure and it was so good to be doing something entirely different than normal. Made some new friends and did a lot of floating in the solarium pool.

Celebrating: I cleaned up the pile of boxes and stuff I’ve had in the dining room for <unknown number of weeks probably 10>!!! Is most of it now a pile in the garage? YES, but it’s a smaller pile and this is progress so we celebrate.
