Here's comedian/dancer Fanny Dango who married an older, rich Australian sheep farmer whose will stipulated she'd get no more money if she remarried. So she didn't, and travelled the world with her own silk sheets & two small, bitey dogs. He died 1923; she died 1972. #OnYaFanny

Abbott is proud of his wilful ignorance. He'll take a white person's third-hand news report rather than an Aboriginal person's witness account. Even by his own definition of acceptable evidence, the 'Aboriginal Protector' reports over decades either side of 1900 confirm atrocities of all kinds.

I'm glad Abbott was challenged on his cherry-picking & 'interpretation' of history by Fitzsimons. Abbott displays a peculiar coldness and incuriousity about oral & other accounts of the fate of Aboriginal people murdered here since the 1700s.
