Angola State Pen is on the site of the old Angola plantation. They literally converted it from cotton plantation to state penitentiary. I presume they changed the sign out front and nothing else.

They drive garish death-traps. I'm happy they found a hill they want to die on (a lithium fueled pyre if the statistics are any prediction) but nothing is trying to deter them other than common sense or good taste

To JD Vance's point, that "boys will be boys" and advocate sending people to death camps...

... That's just not true. In no reasonable morally unbroken society can that be true. I refuse to accept that.

Also, I was younger when I got my EMTs license. Not kids, young adults.

The rule of law still exists. Federal gestapo can grab you off the street, but only a jury of your peers can convict you of whatever Trumped up bullshit they accuse you of.

For the feds the trouble is, jurors in Chicago have eyes. We believe what we are seeing, not what we are hearing.

Sydney Reid acquitted.

This was a case where someone filming was assaulted, and then arrested and charged with felony assault.

The grand jury no billed that, so they took her to trial on a misdemeanor charge. There were a bunch of discovery problems.

And now this.

Kudos to the FPDS!

A verdict form for Sydney Lori Reid. She was found Not Guilty.
