Like, I don’t doubt that it can take time and effort for parents to understand and learn appropriate ways to relate to their child’s new gender identity but I’m so bloody angry at these parasitic groups that pour their energy into trying to reinforce those family members’ most destructive reactions

In truth, I met other gay people at 19, told my father at 20 & my mother at 21, but had come out to my closest friends at 14, when I had never knowingly met a single gay person. Parents are not the "real experts" on the inner lives of their teens (& twenties) "kids." They are often the last to know.

No trans people were interviewed nor were any supportive parents of trans young people. The study was later retracted for multiple corrections & clarifications before republishing. Multiple medical & psychological organisations have stated there is no such condition.

The ROGD pseudo-diagnosis was actually invented by a Genspect associate, Lisa Littman, based on a spurious study of (only) parents recruited from (only) anti-trans websites. These parents believed that their (teenage/young adult) offspring had "suddenly" become trans via social contagion.

AGP, defined as "sexual arousal felt by a male at the thought of himself as a woman" barely made it into DSM-V, as a specifier to "transvestic disorder," not a standalone diagnosis. It has no relevance to a diagnosis of Gender Dysphoria, but is routinely used by Genspect & others to sexualise...
