I naively thought we had good insurance (that we also pay a fortune for) until we needed mental health care at which point we realized that a lot of people and programs don’t take insurance at all. Tens of thousands of dollars and a second mortgage later I’m too aware of how awful the system is.

In town near me, a 13 yo was abducted by ICE and sent to a facility in Virginia. He is sleeping on a concrete floor with an aluminum sheet for a blanket, and is being held with adults. He calls his mother crying. I can’t imagine how traumatized this child is. 1/

Futures just wiped out. As parent of two young adults that have been in SPED programs for the last 16 years - and as a 55 year old who also was helped because of SPED - this is crushingly inhumane. Just the worst possible people doing bad shit all the time.

There’s one party that’s showing its absolute disdain for America and all that it stands for each time they carve away at the Constitution. That they can’t see that and instead blame protesters is delusional. Every time I drive by Concord’s North Bridge (which is daily) I think of the disconnect.
