None of the words he used to describe the chat indicate surprise, only repugnance. I'm hardly Schumer's biggest fan, but the rest of the post seems to indicate that he believes this to be commonplace among the YR crowd (and he's right).

It should be pointed out that Happy Days could have easily folded after Ron Howard left, but continued for four seasons afterwards.

Even more impressive, he was on Married...With Children for a majority of the show's run (six out of ten seasons), so he was hardly a show-killer there.
