My therapist thought I was 24 for the first year I went to her, which I accept, because I am not emotionally mature

My most affirming gender moment recently was when the burly old guy at the liquor store squinted at my ID for so long I thought I was going to get hate-crimed, then looked up at me and said, "you're 43?!"

Online queerness and being trans was, for years, my only outlet to actually being trans.

I would not have done well without those first steps, without the support that came from that, without me being anonymous allowing me to ask my trans elders about What To Fucken Do (and what Absolutely Not).

For many trans people, internet anonymity is only a temporary way station between the closet and living full time in their desired gender. What happens when that privacy is gone?

In a chilling story by Jude Ellison S. Doyle and Rocky OBK, the once-idyllic town of "Abadon" becomes a home to an unknown terror.

Trans people simply want to be left to their own devices and engage in boring activities such as using restrooms, being allowed to work in peace, and posting on social media, but apparently, such is not to be.

Lawmakers and others who influence policy, citing “transgender ideology,” are pushing for a world where talking about transgender people in any context is being treated as “adult material,” equating existing while trans to pornography, something that could put individual hosts and disseminators of information at risk as well as threatening the existence of these resources. Restricting the presence of, and access to, online trans culture through measures such as age verification laws is designed to suppress transness itself.

Here I am, at The Verge, on how Internet censorship stands to cut closeted trans people off from their only safe spaces.

I'm an expert on bloggers of the 2010s and we only do this when we're extremely stressed

I begrudgingly respect this because my response to fucking the grossest dude on the face of the planet would also be to parlay it into some type of book deal

Yeah, it seems to have been set up at least in part for TERFs to publish the stuff the "mainstream doesn't want you to hear." Bindel is a regular, as is Hadley Freeman, a bunch of the British ones

It's true! I went to a bookstore, multiple human beings saw me in three dimensions, and I didn't fall off my chair or die! Very rewarding, all around.

I saw @judedoyle.bsky.social at @astoriabookshop.bsky.social and all I got was my next great in-flight read.
A copy of the 2025 book DILF: Did I Leave Feminism? A Trans and/or Feminist Manifesto by Jude Ellison S. Doyle. The cover layout calls to mind mid-1970s futurist design, with the acronym DILF rendered in large white asymmetrical letters, and the subtitle and author name in plain black text. There is also a cover blurb from Julia Serano that reads, "A thoughtful and passionate book that speaks directly to our current moment." Serano is the author of Whipping Girl. The chosen color palette is a gradient of the trans pride flag colors, with a deep blue at lower left blending to a not-quite-bubblegum-pink at top right.

So Jurassic Park is about a group of rich people who don't understand that biology is far more complicated than "there are only two genders" and how this ignorance toward gender fluidity in nature causes these rich people to lose their money and die.

Just want to let y'all know that I've had to pass along my questions for Jude to a different moderator for tonight's event due to some unforeseen health conflicts. (Not COVID-19.) I am so bummed, but I hope you'll still get out and support Jude and this freaking brilliant book. 🧡

Also, quick caution: I’m getting over a virus that is not contagious to 99% of the population, but if you’re immunocompromised or pregnant, you might want to mask up or just wait to attend the online event hosted by Charis Books this weekend.

Miss Major Griffin-Gracy passed away today according to the House of GG. She was a veteran of the Stonewall rebellion and a lifelong organizer for the safety and dignity of trans people, sex workers, and the incarcerated. She came from the same generation and milieu as Marsha and Sylvia. She was 78.

The average heterosexual couple at any date-night establishment in Greenpoint
A young woman. White t-shirt, long hair, smile, she looks nice. An ent. He has a long mossy beard down to his knees and a vast cloud of twigs and leaves for hair. He has been alive since the earth was born and must rip himself out of the ground to walk. I'm sure he's a very good boyfriend.
