My parents used to force me to go to church with them and I hated it. A former coworker of mine told me this book helped him put all that behind him; and it's a pretty good read. It's written by a religious scholar, and the more he learned, the more 'issues' with the story he found.
Well, I guess I now qualify for the "elderly" category, but I stick to legitimate news sources; and plan to be around way past when we can actually get competent leadership back in office. 🤷♂️
It's 2 different issues, really. I baled from my company at 63 when they decided to close down the office I worked out of and relocate us; turning my 20 commute to 2 hours each way & if you weren't there by 6am there was no parking. I'm living on a pension & payments from a Vanguard account. (1/2)
And to think Abraham Lincoln was a Republican. I used to think Dwight Eisenhower was the last decent one...but, upon further review, maybe not even HIM. 🤷♂️
Sure it matters. Too many Democrats who didn't bother voting is what led to Trump's win and Republican majorities in both the house and the senate. People who don't bother voting and then complain about the results are just part of the problem!
Well, in other words, the party of tax breaks for the wealthy, skyrocketing our national debt, removing benefits from the rest of us, rolling back environmental protections, and blatantly lying. 🤷♂️
I worked at a company that used to be called AiResearch, doing internal design work on executive business jet turbofan engines. It was kind of odd, with Phoenix being kind of a cowboy town and I worked with some British guys who'd come in from Rolls Royce. (1/2)
I'm glad to hear this. My first job out of school was in Phoenix and I started out in an apartment on East Thomas near the Phoenix/Scottsdale border. It was a great job until the company got bought out, but in those days Phoenix seemed Right Wing as hell. 🤷♂️
