Wild to say, but I actually prefer this to Demon Knight. Nobody's having as much fun as Billy Zane over there, but this goofy little vampire flick just feels more like the show, even if Dennis Miller is an odd fit for the lead. Just a fun, schlocky time, as Crypt should be.
I am a total sucker for Ballroom Blitz.
Actors might never have more fun than when they play over-the-top televangelist preachers. There's a reason Danny McBride did it for four seasons.
Already have several performers that are making the most out of being in a Crypt production to just devour scenery.

End of the day, no matter the pitch, you ultimately just need the right line of people to see and believe in it. It's what benefitted Cooking with Monsters after years of no bites, so it can always happen.
Finished up this pitch doc, ready to send it out. It's a heck of a big swing, but I'm glad I'm taking it.

If any editors want to see a fairly oddball writer-only pitch, I'd love to send it!
I'll say this for this idea, it has all the goofy humor and character drama I want in a story, and that makes it worth at least testing the waters on more seriously.
I took the base pun of this idea and wrung every possible bit out of it.

Since nothing else is getting picked up anyway, I've decided to spend some time developing one of the ideas I like the most that equally feels like it's the longest shot.

Comic page of Séamus with a bloody face, standing amongst sheep carcasses. A panel with text reads "He hath made everything beautiful with time. O, what unseen pen etched eternal things in the hearts of humankind, but never let them in our minds?". Last panel is Séamus and Rothláin kissing under a window while a crowd around them doesn't notice. Tattoo commission of two daggers, one with marigolds and the other with a snake. Cover of my upcoming graphic novel, Wacker Drive: A Divine Comedy A comic page of Stavros and Markos, Markos is tending to Stavros's wound on his face.

Received my contributor copies of Samidoon tonight, and the book came out wonderfully! Thanks to @davidmariotte.bsky.social for coordinating this project, @jacobysalcedo.bsky.social and Fortune Wesson for collabing with me to tell a personal story, and for everyone who supported the book.

Nepotism can only take you so far, you still gotta have the juice.

I was tickled by how many future Peacemaker cast members were in this, though.
This was pretty dull! By 2019, "Superman, but evil" was already played out, and the focus on the childhood years doesn't do much to invigorate the idea. There's a lack of convincing character work, the effects are shaky, and the costume is just there to increase the superhero connection, I guess.
I knew the evil Superman angle of this movie, but it more specifically feels like "what if Superman was a Saiyan conqueror?"
It's nuts how many times I've seen a commercial for what seems like a wild new high-concept TV series only for it to turn out to just be another episode of 911, a show that seems to exclusively be crazy event episodes.

Hey look, Israel broke the cease-fire, twice, in two different ways, within 24 hours - again.
NEW: Israel informed the UN it will permit only 300 aid trucks into Gaza daily, not the 600 mandated by the ceasefire it just signed.
Alright #PortfolioDay I'm still very available!

HAHA THE FAMILIAR IS OUT THE BAG

I got to cowrite AGATHA HARKNESS’ official grimoire with Andrea Hannah!

And maybe… a Scarlet Witch and a Sorcerer Supreme make an appearance…
I enjoyed this proto-WWDitS more than I probably should've on the strength of the actors involved and how unseriously it takes itself. But man, the lighting is absurdly intense, no mood whatsoever for a movie set almost exclusively at night.
#Horrorween2025 Day 13: I have no frame of reference for this beyond liking the cast and director, so I'm giving a shot to the middlingly received Vamps!

Zero memory that Kevin Hart was in this.
Anna Faris and Regina Hall committed so hard to these movies, there's a reason them returning for a new one is a real get.
