Our health and social care sector is built on the hard work and rich diversity of its workforce.

The CSP has joined forces with health unions to condemn the rise in anti-migrant rhetoric and reaffirm support for international colleagues working across the UK’s health and social care system.

I’ve lived in the UK for 20+ years. Proud immigrant, proud health professional.
Anti-migrant rhetoric hurts — but compassion and care unite us. Thank you to all international colleagues who keep showing up every day. 💙 #CSP #Solidarity #equality #kindness

Neighbourhood health teams are in the news again today, set to be a central part of the forthcoming NHS 10-year plan.

These services work best with rehab at their core, and AHP leadership driving them forward.

Our panel outlined why at #NHSConfedExpo this week.

The number of people waiting for MSK services continues to rise.

The number of people waiting more than a year for rehab is also going up.

Lives being ruined, people falling out of work, health inequalities widening.

Good work by @davewwest.bsky.social digging into the stats.

Right, here's an update on the community health services waiting list - that's the one govt is largely ignoring, axing the national objective to cut it last month.

Data to December shows another rise (c2,500) in kids waiting a year or more for help, small fall for adults (c.200)

If I told you that the Bank of England upgraded its growth forecasts yesterday, would you believe me?

It did....

i HAvE nOt gOne CRazY - honest

This is a hill I am prepared to die on - the BoE and others (all central banks, IMF, OECD etc etc) report their "forecasts" in a terrible way

I have a horrible feeling we should be thinking harder on this side of the Atlantic about whether this is a new form of techno-authoritarianism that could be copied beyond the US, and if so WWYD, because at the moment there’s lots of great learning lessons from Trump victory but not from Musk’s

What’s happening in the US is starting to feel more like a hacking than an election, with Trump basically cast as the idiot who clicked on the phishing email that let the ransomware guys in. Struck by how crucial tech not politics reporters are to us understanding it
Thanks very much for the great piece on this.

Properly fund services for the work they are commissioned to do. Invest in workforce expansion /planning and be proactive as opposed to reactive. The only way to cut waiting times is fully staffed services of the right establishment numbers to see pt’s in a timely manner.

Yep - can get a seat at Ware, but the trains are bigger than before the pandemic, so passenger numbers may actually have returned to then (on a Thursday, anyway!).
